"Call Me" was indeed the main theme from the 1980 motion picture "American Gigolo" Blondie, led by Deborah Harry, took this tune to the top of the U.S. Billboard charts for a six week stay in the spring that year. It ultimately became the group's biggest U.S. hit, and it hit the top in the U.K. as well.

The song appears on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" at number 283.

Blondie was having a big year in 1981. The song "Rapture" was their second number one of the year. It spend two weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts in the spring that year, and peaked at number five on the U.K. charts. It is considered to be the first number one single on the Billboard charts which contained rap music.

The song was a release from an album called "Autoamerican".

The Human League were a group of singers from Sheffield England, who were considered an electronic music group. The song spend three weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts in the summer of 1982 after spending time at the top of the U.K. charts a few months earlier.

Interestingly the group's lead singer Philip Oakley was against releasing the song as a single, thinking it was too weak to be released. So much for what the singers know.

"Let's Dance" was a 1983 U.S. number one hit for David Bowie. The song spent a week at the top of the U.S. Billboard charts in the spring of 1983 as well as reaching number one in the U.K. It was the only Bowie song to be number one in both countries.

As for the name, David Robert Jones was Bowie's birthname, and early in his career he performed under the names David Jones, and Davy Jones, but changed his stage name to Bowie in order to avoid confusion with the Davy Jones that sang with The Monkees.
