Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If you heard "He's walking like a dead man, if he had lived he would have crucified us all," what song would be playing?

Answer: Children Of The Damned

"Children Of The Damned" was inspired by a 1963 movie of the same title. The movie is about six kids from all over the world that each have telepathic powers. Naturally, these children grow suspicious of government. Shocking, isn't it?
2. "Once you were glad to be free for a while, the air tasted good and the world was your friend" is from what Maiden tune?

Answer: Gangland

Before releasing the album, Iron Maiden had to choose between "Gangland" and "Total Eclipse" for inclusion. Needless to say, "Gangland" was added, while the other was left off. Clive Burr, a former drummer for Iron Maiden, wrote this song.
3. "Selling them whiskey and taking their gold, enslaving the young and destroying the old." What song is this line from?

Answer: Run To The Hills

"Run to the Hills" was Maiden's breakout hit. It catapulted them to world wide success with many top 10 singles and albums.
4. "Somebody please tell me that I'm dreaming, it's not easy to stop from screaming, but words escape me when I try to speak." What classic song is this one from?

Answer: Hallowed Be Thy Name

"Hallowed Be Thy Name" is a story as seen through the eyes of a condemned man awaiting his execution. Quite possibly Iron Maiden's best song, "Hallowed" is a real must to witness live. Just hearing the crowd sing along is a great memory.
5. Which song is this line from? "Judgment day has come around so be prepared, don't run, stand your ground."

Answer: Invaders

"Invaders" relates the violent defense against Viking invasion. Vikings were excellent boat builders. Eric the Red discovered what would be later known as America long before Columbus did.
6. "If you kill me it's self defense, if I kill you then I call it vengeance." What song is this chilling lyric on?

Answer: The Prisoner

"The Prisoner" was inspired by the TV series of the same name. In fact, the star of the "Prisoner" TV series, Patrick McGoohan himself, lent his voice to the opening of this track. The song "The Prisoner" is a prequel to the song "Back in the Village" from the "Powerslave" album.
7. "You're running away, don't you know what you're doing? Can't you see it'll lead you to ruin?" is a line from what Maiden tune?

Answer: 22 Acacia Avenue

Originally written by guitarist Adrian Smith, "22 Acacia Avenue" continues the story of 'Charlotte the Harlot'. Adrian Smith quit Maiden in 1990, but returned in 1999, where he joined longtime Maiden guitarist Dave Murray and Smith's replacement, Janick Gers.
8. "Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised, as they start to cry hands held to the sky" is sung on what song?

Answer: The Number Of The Beast

This track branded Iron Maiden with the stigma of being satanists. Like many songs before and after, including "Suicide Solution" by Ozzy Osbourne and "Under the Blade" by Twisted Sister, some people mistook the meaning by only reading the title and failing to actually read the lyrics.
9. In which song would you find: "Raping the women and wasting the men, the only good Indians are tame".

Answer: Run To The Hills

The sentence "the only good Indians are tame" refers to the inane proverb "The only good Indian is a dead Indian". The saying is believed to have been said by General Philip Sheridan.
10. "Around the world the people stop with terror-stricken eyes, a shadow cast upon them all to crush them like a fly" is a line from what Maiden tune?

Answer: Total Eclipse

Although not originally on the album "The Number of the Beast", it was included in the remastered version. "Total Eclipse" tells the story of the end of days due to natural disasters.
