1. What city in southern Ontario was Neil born in?

Answer: Hamilton

He was born on September 12, 1952 in Hamilton, Ontario and spent his first few years on a farm in Hagersville, not too far outside of Hamilton. His family moved to St. Catherines not too long after.
2. How many siblings did Neil have?

Answer: 3

He has a younger brother, Danny (born 1954), and two younger sisters, Judy (born 1955) and Nancy (born 1964). These are mentioned both in the acknowledgement part of "Ghost Rider", and in "Traveling Music" in the first part of his autobiography chapters (including a notation of how Nancy was a "surprise").
3. Did Neil graduate from high school?

Answer: No

He started out as such a smart kid that he was actually moved up a couple of grades in elementary school, however by high school, drums consumed his life so much that his grades started waning, which would eventually put him back in line with the kids his age.

After a talk with his parents and with the high school administrator, he decided to drop out of high school to focus on music full time.
4. What job was Neil doing full time before he joined Rush?

Answer: parts manager

He was the parts manager for the International Harvester dealership his father owned at the time, then he answered the ad Rush put out looking for a new drummer...and the rest is history.
5. How many children did Neil have with his first wife, Jackie?

Answer: 1

They had Selena Taylor, who was born on April 22, 1978, but unfortunately died in a one car accident on August 10, 1997. Afterwards, Jackie fell apart and eventually died of cancer on June 20, 1998. Neil would then go on an extended hiatus riding his motorcycle all around North and Central America on what became known to him as "the healing road", which was then told in his second book "Ghost Rider".
6. What brand of motorcycle did Neil own the most models of in his lifetime?

Answer: BMW

Neil's motorcycles of choice are BMW touring bikes, and he either gets red ones or black ones, but prefers red. He did at one time own at least one Ducati motorcycle, which he brought into his house by the lake sometime after losing Jackie and Selena and put on display in one of his large living room windows.

He has never owned an Indian motorcycle, and Alex Lifeson owned a Harley at one time.
7. What California city did Neil settle down in after remarrying?

Answer: Santa Monica

When he met and married photographer Carrie Nuttall, he settled down with her in Santa Monica, California where she had her photography business and he really had nothing but her and his bare necessities (car, motorcycle, music, etc.). They would eventually buy another house and move out of her rent-controlled townhouse that became increasingly too small to hold all of what they did together. Neil kept his home up in Quebec and they often escaped to there as well. Eventually after nine years of marriage, Neil and Carrie would welcome daughter Olivia Louise Peart into the world in the late summer of 2009.
8. How many non-fiction books did Neil have published in his lifetime?

Answer: 7

9. What was Neil's Scotch whisky brand of choice?

Answer: The Macallan

Neil always enjoyed a glass of "The Macallan 12" single malt Scotch whisky on the rocks, usually after a day of riding, or after a performance on the tour bus rolling out of the arena.
10. How did Neil die?

Answer: cancer

On January 7, 2020, Neil succumbed to Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, after losing a secret three-and-a-half year battle with it. He was 67 years old.
