Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Cross Country?

Answer: Long Distance Running

Cross Country is a sport that involves running long distances. The typical running length is three miles. It involves running up and down many different terrains such as trails, street and dirt, and sometimes concrete.
2. Which of these is considered the best thing to eat for dinner the night before you run?

Answer: Spaghetti

Of course eating nothing at all will not help you. Salads are pretty healthy, but it lacks carbohydrates. Steak lacks carbs as well. It's the pasta noodles of spaghetti that are filled with carbohydrates.
3. What's considered the best thing to drink before a run?

Answer: Water

Coke is obviously not correct. Lemonade is full of sugar. Water is great, and so are other sports drinks such as Gatorade and Powerade.
4. Which of these is not a brand of shoe?

Answer: Lightning

Most of you have heard of Adidas, Asics, and Nike. Lightning doesn't exist.
5. Where was the second most popular running course located in the U.S.A in 2002?

Answer: Mt. SAC (San Antonio College)

It was voted 2nd most popular with DyeStat.com. Cal State poly is just a made up answer. I'm told the most popular course in the U.S.A, is in the Rocky Mountains. Woodland Park was where the CA state meet was located, but no course beats Mt. SAC. (except for the one in the Rocky Mountains.) The West Regionals (higher then state, lower then nationals) was held at Mt.SAC.
