1. In kilometers, what is the usual distance for a U.S. cross country race for women?

Answer: 5

A cross country race for women is usually 5 km, or 3.1 miles.
2. Which of these were considered to be the best to eat the night before a race?

Answer: Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates such as pasta, are great to eat the night before a race. They provide great energy for your run.
3. What term is known as "Race Pace"?

Answer: The pace that you are most comfortable running at for the whole race.

A race pace is the speed you run the cross country race, or any race. It is different for everyone.
4. It is best to sprint as hard as you can for the entire race.

Answer: False

You should not sprint the whole race in Cross Country. You should find your race pace and settle into it. A race pace should be as fast as you can run the whole course, not a dead sprint. In a sprint, you won't make it the whole race.
5. What was the fastest time ever run by a high school boy in a U.S. 5000m cross country race in the 1980s?

Answer: 14:35

In 1982, Eric Reynolds ran 5000m in 14:35. The record stood for 17 years until 1999, when Dathan Ritzenhein finished in 14:29.
