The Dallas Texans of the old AFL moved to Kansas City, and became the Chiefs.

Eddie LeBaron, at 5 feet, 9 inches, was the first starting quarterback for the Cowboys. He was soon replaced with the taller, quicker Meredith. Staubach came in 1969. Van Brocklin retired in 1960.

The Houston Oilers won the first AFL World Championship in 1960, by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers, 24-16. The Oilers repeated as AFL Champion in 1961, by defeating the Chargers, 10-3.

The Oilers played in three stadiums while in Houston. Jeppesen Stadium, Rice Stadium, Houston Astrodome. When the Oilers played the first AFL Championship in Jeppesen Stadium, the ground crew had to paint the field green because the grass was dead, and it was going to be televised in color!

Unfortunately, the Houston Oilers never played in a Super Bowl. They became the the Tennessee Oilers in 1997, and the Tennessee Titans in 1999 (and played in the 2000 Super Bowl, losing 16-23 to the Rams).
