#10 was worn by catcher Eddie Taubensee (1994-2000),infielder Bip Roberts (1992-1993), and Sparky Anderson, who managed the Reds to two World Series titles, four NL pennants and five division crowns from 1970 to 1978.

Bench played his entire 12 year career with the Reds. His achievements include Rookie of the Year (1968), NL MVP (1970,1972), NL home run champion (1970,1972), and NL RBI champion (1970,1972, & 1974). The Reds retired #5 in a special ceremony on August 11, 1984.

Johnny Vander Meer pitched a no-hitter on June 11, 1938, against the Braves. Then no-hit the Dodgers at Ebbets Field on June 15 on his next start. He became the first pitcher to throw back-to-back no hitters. He also wore numbers 27,31, and 33 during his career.

Some believed #27 was out of circulation because it appears on the Mr Red logo. But Jose Rijo came along in 1988 and did away with that myth. He won the MVP award in the 1990 World Series wearing this number.

Although, Cesar Geronimo (1972-1980), Eddie Milner (1981-1986), and Danny Jackson (1988-1990), all wore #20 with the Reds. The retirement of #20 went to Frank Robinson. From 1956-1965 with the Reds, Frank hit 324 home runs and 1,009 RBI's. And in 1965 the Reds traded him to the Orioles for Milt Pappas. One of the worst moves the Reds ever made.
