The National League was formed on February 2, 1876 in New York City. Other cities that were in the league were: Chicago, Boston, St. Louis, Hartford, Louisville, New York and Philadelphia. The Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs are the only teams stil playing in the National League.
