Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Okay, anyone with a snake in their head raise their hand."

Answer: The First Ones

Teal'c has just tied up Jack, Sam, Rothman and Hawkins because he believes one of them has been infected by a Gou'ald. As it turns out, both Hawkins and Rothman are now hosts.
2. "I don't know Carter; you might not be dumb enough."

Answer: Small Victories

The Replicators are on their way to Thor's home world and Thor has come to SGC in hopes of receiving help stopping them. It appears that the Asgard are no longer capable of thinking like humans, which means Thor needs someone dumber to help find a solution. Sam volunteers, prompting Jack's reply.
3. "I ask you, what could possibly be in my eye that could explain this?"

Answer: Window of Opportunity

This is Teal'c and Jack's third of many loops to come. And, as occurs in every loop, Hammond insists that Dr. Frasier give Teal'c and Jack a full check-up, which includes a penlight in the eye for Jack and a thermometer in the mouth for Teal'c.
4. "And who does the translating when you go ancient?"

Answer: The Lost City, Part I

SG-1 are on a planet with a repository of the Ancients, similar to the one that downloaded all that information into Jack's head way back in the season 2 episode, "The Fifth Race". SG-1 was attempting to remove the device when Anubis' forces show up. They need the information that is there and Daniel tries to use the machine. Jack stops him and lets the information get downloaded into his brain instead.
5. "No, no. It's just possible you were seeing something that wasn't entirely... Yes, that's what we're suggesting."

Answer: Sight Unseen

Jonas has been seeing bugs no one else can and this is Jack's response when Jonas asks "You're suggesting I'm delusional?" As it turns out, Jonas is not delusional. There is a machine that makes people see what is already there.
6. "I'd like to apologize in advance for anything I may say or do that could be construed as offensive as I slowly go NUTS!"

Answer: Legacy

Jack, Janet and Sam have all been infected with several of Ma'chello's Gou'ald killing devices that make people who are not host to a Gou'ald go schizophrenic.
7. "She's going back to get her brain sucked out, and I dare anybody to phrase it more delicately!"

Answer: Learning Curve

Merrin is an 11 year old girl and an Urrone. The people from her home world, Orban, have a practice of extracting nanites from the Urrone's brains and sharing them around, in a process called the Averium. Unfortunately, it leaves children without any knowledge of their own and they spend the rest of their lives kept in rooms, alone. Jack isn't very supportive of this practice. Jack is overruled and he kidnaps Merrin in hopes convincing her to stay on Earth.

However, Merrin decides to go home and all her knowledge, including what she has learned about play is spread to all her people.
8. "We got bugs."

Answer: Nemesis

Jack is referring to the replicators. This quote occurs near the end of the episode. Thor's ship is about to crash into the ocean. The stargate has been "beamed" up to Thor's ship as a means of escape and they are just about to leave.
9. "In fact, there's an official list of reasons for which crying is a good thing. 'Mom leaving', I believe, is number six on the list of good reasons. Actually, six is 'Mom says she's leaving in a couple of days'. Five is 'Mom leaving immediately'. Four, of course, is 'Mom already left' Three, now, three is huge, one of the bigger ones on the list..."

Answer: Show and Tell

O'Neill is explaining to Charlie, the boy made to be a liaison between the Ree'tu and the humans, that it is okay to cry. Charlie's mother is a Ree'tu and is planning to leave her son with his own kind.
10. "Kind of gives 'needle in a haystack' a whole new meaning."

Answer: Seth

Jack's response when Jacob asks for help locating a Gou'ald, Seth, hiding out among billions of people. As it turns out, finding Seth isn't as difficult as one might think, as SG-1 soon discovers Seth is leading a cult here on Earth.
11. "Apparently we said hello, insulted each other, and broke for recess."

Answer: Fair Game

Jack was chosen to represent Earth in treaty talks with the Gou'ald and this is Jack's description of the first meeting between Earth, the Asgard, who are mediating, and the Gou'ald system lords. Despite this rocky start, a treaty is established.
12. "You know, that U.A.V. needs a swift kick in the C.P.U."

Answer: Rules of Engagement

An U.A.V. has crashed and SG-1 have been sent to retrieve it. Their simple mission is disrupted when they discover a camp of soldiers dressed as SG teams. As it turns out, these men are really soldiers of Apophis who are playing a deadly war game.
13. "How's a needle in my butt going to get water out of my ears?"

Answer: Foothold

Jack asks this to the nurse about to give him a shot after SG-1 has returned from a planet where it was pouring rain. As it turns out, the injection Jack is receiving will put him to sleep, so he can be copied as part of an alien invasion.
14. "Just remember, I retired! You wanted me back!"

Answer: Upgrades

Jack, along with Sam and Daniel, were under the influence of arm bands that made them stronger and faster but inhibited their ability to make proper choices. They disobeyed orders, got into trouble off-world, needed help from Teal'c to escape and only made it due to dumb luck.

After they get back, Hammond assures them that, since they were under an alien influence, there will be no court-martial.
15. "Cheyenne, we have a problem."

Answer: Tangent

The X-301, a mixture of Gou'ald and human technology, decides it doesn't like planet Earth and takes off into space. There is nothing Jack or Teal'c can do to make the glider turn around and Jack reports to Earth that they have a problem.
16. "They're the future of the Air Force, the program, the entire planet. God help us."

Answer: Proving Ground

Jack's referring to the group of new recruits that SG-1 are currently training. Though they've good enough to get training, Jack isn't impressed by this group. Sam tries to get Jack to remember when he was their age, to which Jack replies, "I was never their age."
17. "My government will admit Daniel is guilty over my dead body."

Answer: Meridian

After Daniel is exposed to lethal radiation, the Kelownian government tries to place the blame on Daniel. Jack doesn't believe Daniel is to blame and says as much to Jonas Quinn. As it turns out, Daniel gave his life to stop a catastrophe.
18. "I don't know the meaning of the word. Seriously, 'impudence,' what does that mean?"

Answer: Abyss

Jack has been taken prisoner by Ba'al. Ba'al just told him he would suffer for his impudence. And suffer Jack did. He died over and over, only to be continually revived in a sarcophagus. Eventually he was rescued by his friends.
19. "Oh, Carter it's none of my business. I'm just happy that you're happy about something other then...quarks."

Answer: Chimera

Jack and Sam are in the elevator and Sam's humming the Stargate theme. Jack guesses, correctly, that Sam has a new guy in her life and he's happy for her. The awkward conversation is thankfully ended when the elevator reaches its destination.
20. "I am 100% sure... 99% sure Apophis is dead."

Answer: Threshold

Apophis died when the replicator infested ship crashed into Apophis' planet in "Enemies". However, since Jack has considered Apophis to be dead twice before, he's not 100% sure.
