Do you pick the individual questions or does Funtrivia do it for you. Just that most sports questions I ever get are about American sports, some I know but most I haven't a clue about. So just wondering. Reply #101. Jun 03 13, 11:04 AM |

They're randomly selected by the system from the FT question pool. Chavs only selects the category. So because there's a heavy American bias in the number of sports questions available that's what comes out. :) I think (though I'm not sure) that the tournaments use an older catalogue of questions, so writing a ton of new questions on European sport, hurling, gaelic football, whatever ... probably wouldn't help to correct the imbalance. Religion shouldn't be too U.S. oriented... unless it's all about Mormons LOL Also, there's literature, music, movies and sci/tech. By the way, I don't do too well in the Sports, either :-p Reply #104. Jun 03 13, 3:13 PM |

Thanks. One of the first categories I played after signing up for the tournament was something like legends, myth or something and there was a few Irish questions in it but anywhere else on FT I've had to play something similar there was never an Irish one. That's why I was wondering if the questions were handpicked. Reply #107. Jun 05 13, 9:09 AM |

It's sweltering here in The Sunscorched (formerly Emerald) Isle, the fifth consecutive day of blazing sun. What's happening, is this the end of the world?? I even found myself looking at summer garden furniture in B&Q today - despite the fact the chairs and table I bought four years ago have been languishing practically unused in the shed ever since due to non-appearing summers!! Still, I work on the premise that you can never have enough unused parasols, awnings and swinging seats! :) I took my car into one of those carwash places this afternoon where a small army of Romanian guys swarm around rubbing, powerhosing and polishing (they do such a great job it made me feel a little less lazy about not having done it myself with the unused carwash, polish and chamois sitting on top of the garden furniture in my shed). But in the 10 minutes it took, with the windows closed and the A/C off, the perspiration was, well, tripping me - it was that hot. I should have got out of the car and let them powerhose me. We're going to Belfast Zoo tomorrow. That should be fun. For those who don't know it, Belfast Zoo is built up the side of Cavehill Mountain. By the time you get to the top where the 'good' animals are, even in cool weather you're pretty much exhausted. If today's sunshine holds up, I'm expecting to need an oxygen tent and a fluid drip. We're bringing a picnic, so the warm coke, wilted salad and melted chocolate cake should be a real treat for the girls! ;-) Reply #113. Jun 07 13, 10:16 AM |

What fun! Zoos are great. Lots of exercise, but you hardly notice (although if it's up a hill, maybe you *do* notice LOL). I hope it cools off a bit for you. Reply #114. Jun 07 13, 2:00 PM |

Brilliant weather and we had a lovely afternoon at the zoo. When you get to the top there are great views out over Belfast Lough. My only disappointment was that the prairie dogs were missing (or asleep!). I like prairie dogs! Next week we're heading down to Athlone for a long weekend. Apparently it's regatta weekend there, so it should be interesting. Hope the weather holds up! :) Reply #115. Jun 08 13, 11:05 AM |

Here's a little bit of trad for you all! :) I was down in St. George's Market in Belfast city centre this afternoon, buying me fish and meat - and Réalta was doing a session there - good stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecM_aZjYriE Reply #116. Jun 09 13, 10:12 AM |

PRAIRIE DOGS?! Cavehill has prairie dogs? And here I was going to stock up and bring some for my visit in July! So much for that idea! I'll just have to bring tatie farls instead. :-) Hello everybody. Hope you don't mind me popping in. Reply #117. Jun 09 13, 12:18 PM |

Not just prairie dogs ... nine giraffes, forty six penguins and assorted Burmese logging elephants!! You should still bring the tatie bread though, we've stopped eating prairie dogs here (for now!). :) Fáilte romhat fosta, a Niall! :) Reply #119. Jun 09 13, 2:10 PM |
