Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Teams headed to Newfoundland & Labrador in the penultimate leg of the race, landing in which location?

Answer: St. John's

Teams, situated in Mississauga at the start of Leg 9, were in the perfect spot to head to Pearson International Airport in the middle of the night and board a flight to St. John's, Newfoundland for a penultimate sprint of a leg. Once there, teams proceeded on a series of tasks in the city starting with a visit to the Canadian Coast Guard Atlantic Region Headquarters in the city's harbour.

Here, teams would need to spy a series of nautical flags, and use those to decode their next destination, Water Street.

Here, teams would be able to get tickets on one of two charter buses to the town of Gander, but only after distributing twenty Fuze drinks to locals and taking selfies with each one.
2. Racers who completed the Road Block in Gander (in Leg 9) had to jump from which of these into a lake?

Answer: Helicopter

Teams arrived in the town of Gander to find their Road Block clue waiting at Town Hall, and this one restricted its participants to whoever had done less Road Blocks at this point, ultimately being the one to 'jump to conclusions'. For this challenge, Jonathon, Grace, Nipiy, Blake, and Ika had to head to CFB Gander on the edge of Gander Lake, board a CH-149 Cormorant rescue helicopter, fly out, and leap out of the chopper into the chilly waters below.

They could swim out to their clue, get pulled back into the helicopter, reunite with their partners on the shore once this was done.
3. At Rosie's Restaurant & Bakery in Gander, racers had to order what unexpected foodstuffs?

Answer: Moose Farts

Leaving the Road Block, teams had to take on the difficult task of being an air traffic controller at the Nav Canada Gander Control Centre, taking command of one of the busiest airspaces on Earth. Here, racers would need to learn how to communicate with aircrafts using proper phraseology, identifying the planes, responding in turn, and taking care of their requests to either change speed or flight level.

If racers could get their planes taken care of, they could make their way Rosie's Restaurant & Bakery in town. If they ordered 'Moose Farts' (actually chocolate-dipped graham cracker bites), they'd get their next clue.
4. Most teams completed which Detour task at Gander International Airport in Leg 9?

Answer: 'Menu'

After a series of aviation-related tasks, it only made sense for teams to head to Gander International Airport for their Detour, the last such task choice of the race, and there, they had to choose between 'Menu' and 'Mosaic'.

Teams completing 'Menu' headed into the terminal to speak to dining travellers, all from different foreign destinations and speaking different languages. With these orders and a multilingual menu board, they would have to translate the request and serve the customers properly to get their clue. Grace and Joe, Nipiy and Magoo, and Ika and Demetres took on 'Menu'.

Teams completing 'Mosaic' leaned into a task inspired by the Broadway musical "Come From Away", heading to the international lounge to properly place ten new crocheted granny squares onto a replica mosaic from the show. If they got all ten correct based on clues from locals, they would get their next clue. Jesse and Jonathon and EB and Blake finished this one.
5. Which team was fifth to arrive at the Pit Stop in Leg 9, being the last to be eliminated from the race?

Answer: Ika and Demetres

If teams could complete their Detours at Gander International Airport they could check in at the ninth and final Pit Stop waiting for them at the end of the spit at Cobb's Pond Rotary Park and, if they weren't last, they would be granted a spot in the final leg.

Nipiy and Magoo slid ahead at the Detour to land on the mat in first place, claiming their first victory and winning a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil courtesy of Expedia (as well as an extra $15,000 of spending money).

The last team to check in during this leg was Ika and Demetres. Unable to overcome the air traffic control task with haste, they landed on the mat fifth and were eliminated from the race.
6. In Collingwood, Ontario, to kick off their final leg, racers faced what never-before-seen task type?

Answer: Double Road Block

Leaving from St. John's at the start of their final leg, teams needed to get themselves to the airport, fly back to Toronto International Airport, then sign up on one of two charter flights to their final destination, Collingwood, Ontario, where a visit to the Blue Mountains would help them find their finish line.

Arriving by floatplane, teams found a surprising twist at the Collingwood Grain Terminals on the Lake Huron waterfront, specifically the Double Road Block, which had racers splitting up to complete two separate tasks at the same time. While one racer descended into the basement of the grain terminal and used a blacklight to locate shape-and-number combos, their teammate climbed ladders to the roof to collect three marked bags of grain corresponding to the indicated pairings. When both tasks finished, they could reunite and keep racing.
7. In Blue Mountain Resort, racers had to deliver which of these to a party in the Village?

Answer: Cupcakes

Leaving the Double Road Block, racers had to head to Blue Mountain Village to make some deliveries throughout the resort property. Hopping onto an aqua trike, racers needed to bring balloons and fourteen cupcakes to a birthday celebration, trading them for their next clue.

From there, racers could take their taxis to the T&K Ferri Orchards for a different party activity. Here, racers would need to bob for apples, each with numbers on them, found in fifteen buckets around the orchard. If racers could combine eight apples, the numbers of which had to add up to one hundred, they could trade those apples to continue racing.
8. The last Road Block of the race had teams riding which of these on the shores of Lake Huron?

Answer: Jetboard

Leaving their apple bobbing task, racers were instructed to travel to Northwinds Beach to complete, of all things, a third Road Block task. Here, one racer needed to 'feel jetlagged', proceeding to the waters of Georgian Bay to ride a jetboard. Jonathon, Joe, EB, and Nipiy needed to complete a course, out on the water, in twenty-four seconds or less to get their next clue and proceed onward, by taxi, to Valley Ridge Family Farm.
9. The final challenge of the race, a memory challenge, involved playing with which of these based on the events and locations of the season?

Answer: Road signs

At Valley Ridge Family Farm, racers had one final challenge involving their memory of the events of the competition. Here, in front of a massive setup consisting of unique road signs, racers needed to assign specially-designed, cryptic clues to the different legs of the race, in order based on when they were encountered. If they could place all fifty signs in their proper spots, a judge would give them their last clue of the race.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race Canada 11"?

Answer: Jesse and Jonathon

Once the final challenge was completed, racers would be able to rip open one last clue directing them by taxi, ten kilometres through winding country roads, to locate the Pit Stop at Blue Mountain's Osler Bluff Ski Club, and there, they could proceed on foot to the top of the mountain to Jon, the eliminated teams, and the Finish Line. Staying ahead of the other teams, barely, through the final leg, it was Jesse and Jonathon who landed in first place, winning $250,000 CAD, at trip around the world from Expedia, and a pair of 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS vehicles.

They were followed by Grace and Joe in second, EB and Blake in third, and Nipiy and Magoo in fourth.
