Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Leaving Metro Kingdom, Mario has the fork-in-the-road choice of visiting Snow Kingdom or which alternative?

Answer: Seaside Kingdom

Mario's stay in New Donk City (Metro Kingdom) might prove to be a lengthy one due to the fact that the sprawling metropolis there contains a significant amount of main quests and Power Moons, but when he and Cappy have enough under their belts to move on, they'll face a choice, again, like the did when they left Sand Kingdom. Picking between Snow Kingdom and Seaside Kingdom doesn't mean you won't visit the other in turn; it'll just mean that in order to proceed you'll have to get enough Power Moons in one to then head to the next before the path heads onward to Luncheon Kingdom.
2. To get to Shiveria Town, Mario must find his way through which of these?

Answer: The Ice Well

Arriving in Shiveria for the first time you may be a bit surprised that you didn't arrive to better weather; the Odyssey lands in the middle of a blizzard. It's part of the problem he faces in the Snow Kingdom, however, and the quests there start with navigating through the dense snow and cold to find a plateau containing the Ice Well. If Mario can clear the snow (with Cappy's help) he'll be able to drop down into the warmer village known as Shiveria Town, and from there, he can get his missions in order.
3. Which local item was stolen from this Kingdom for Bowser's wedding?

Answer: A cake

When Mario dives into Shiveria Town he'll find the locals out and about in the town square, most of them huddled in front of the empty center area watching the frustrating events unfold on a projector screen. As it turns out, Bowser's henchpeople have already come by and stolen the Frost-Frosted Cake, their prized creation, and now they have nothing with which to reward the winner of their grand prix. Oh yeah, and the Broodals sealed off the entrance to the race course as well. No fun for anyone!
4. How many Bowser barriers block off the entrance to the Shiverians' race course?

Answer: Four

Although Mario can take on the Broodals first and foremost, those foes are just part of a four-step process to reopening the race course for the bored and disappointed locals. This mission will have Mario heading to the Snowy Mountain (where the Broodals are), the Icicle Cavern, the Hollow Crevasse, and Wind-Chill Cavern. Only when he collects the Power Star at the end of each small quest will he be able to open the hole in the middle of the village and slide deeper into the snow.
5. Which Broodal, who you fight, makes a return in this Kingdom?

Answer: Rango

The Broodal ship can be found floating over the Snowy Mountain area of the Snow Kingdom, and ascending its steep cliffs will bring you to an arena coated entirely in ice. No one said it would be easy, but it's the battleground for a rematch against Rango, previously battled in the Lake Kingdom where the Broodals stole the Lochlady Dress.

The battle is similar; Rango will toss his hat(s) and Mario will need to flip them to create flower platforms he can use to float down onto the boss's head. Naturally, the frictionless ground will make this more difficult than it needs to be.
6. The Regional Coins of the Snow Kingdom are shaped like which of these?

Answer: Snowflakes

Mario can start collecting these as soon as he lands, with a trio of coins located right behind the Odyssey as examples. The catch is, despite the fact that the Snow Kingdom has many different offshoot caverns, rooms, and mountains, there are only fifty Regional Coins to collect and spend at the Crazy Cap Shop here, just enough to get Mario some cold weather gear (which will allow him into the guarded 8-bit zone known as the Cold Room), a rug, some nesting dolls, and a sticker for the Odyssey.
7. Which of these foes makes its "Mario" series debut in the Snow Kingdom?

Answer: Bitefrost

When Mario drops into the Ice Wall area in the Hollow Crevasse, he'll find himself in the presence of a new enemy in the series, the Bitefrost, which lurks under the snow and emerges when Mario walks overtop of it, rising from the ground and biting when it reaches its maximum height.

While this is a dangerous enemy to be sure, especially since it will follow Mario around until it gets its meal, Mario can also use it to his advantage, waiting to rise off the ground with the foe and jumping at the right time to reach higher platforms.
8. What is the name of the race course found in the Snow Kingdom?

Answer: Snowline Circuit

Once Mario opens the barriers he can slide down into the crowning glory of the Snow Kingdom, the well-manicured race course that is the Snowline Circuit, which takes its competitors along a twisting and severe course meant for only the hardiest Shiverians.

The only Multi-Moon of the Kingdom is found at the end of the three-lap race found here, and fortunately, the competition is missing a racer. The catch is that Mario isn't equipped to race it on his own.
9. When Mario captures a Shiverian, his only action will be which of the following?

Answer: Bound

When Mario finds a Shiverian in the racers' dressing room at the Snowline Circuit, it will present the perfect (and, let's face it, the only) opportunity for Mario to be in contention for the Kingdom's Multi-Moon. All he needs to do is grasp the controls of the Shiverian and bound around the three-lap course to win the Bound Bowl Grand Prix against seven other Shiverian experts. Even if you manage to end the race in first place, there will be other opportunities with later Power Moons to get better at this unique form of racing.
10. Can Mario touch the freezing waters of the Snow Kingdom without taking damage?

Answer: Yes

More than that, Mario's free to swim in any of the chilly waters in the Kingdom at his leisure. The only catch is that unlike in more temperate Kingdoms like the Lake Kingdom and the Seaside Kingdom, the water here is cold enough to eventually do some damage. If Mario stays in the water, submerged or not, for a certain amount of time, his health will diminish on its own-- no need to overthink breath capacity. You should only take a dip if absolutely necessary.
