Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sequentially, the Seaside Kingdom comes directly after Metro Kingdom or, depending on your travel choices, which other Kingdom?

Answer: Snow Kingom

Once Mario has enough Power Moons to proceed onward from Metro Kingdom/New Donk City, a choice between two upcoming Kingdoms will be presented, just as you receive when you leave Sand Kingdom. This time, the choice is between Snow Kingdom to the north and Seaside Kingdom to the south. No matter what, Mario will need to complete the missions in both, but you get to approach them in the order you wish. Choosing Snow Kingdom first means collecting enough Power Moons to go directly to the Seaside Kingdom and vice versa, and when both are done, Mario will head to the Luncheon Kingdom.
2. The centerpiece of this Kingdom is which of these unique structures found off the shoreline?

Answer: Glass Tower

An unmissable fixture, the largest landmark of the Seaside Kingdom and the prized piece of Bubblaine is the Glass Tower, a massive cylinder nestled atop a golden frame meant to contain Sparkle Water, a local drink that's said to bring happiness to anyone who imbibes.

The problem here is that the tower is nearly empty, actively being imbibed by the local big bad guy, Mollusque-Lanceur, who sits on top with a straw. The entire single mission here, 'The Glass Is Half Empty!', revolves around fixing this issue for the locals.
3. How many Sparkle Water Fountains does Mario need to uncork?

Answer: Four

The first order of business, as locals will inform Mario, will be to restore the full flow to the Sparkle Water Fountains which, when combined, allow for their beverage to become fully ready for consumption and fill the Glass Tower. This'll mean that Mario will need to travel to the Beach House, the Lighthouse, up Rolling Canyon, and out to Hot Spring Island to collect Power Moons, open up the switches for each, and then hit them to uncork the fountains, sending them hurtling straight at Mollusque-Lanceur and making him angrier and angrier.
4. Which of these creatures, which Mario can capture using Cappy, can shoot water to move around?

Answer: Gushen

A new foe found in the Seaside Kingdom, Gushens are aquatic creatures that live in bubbles of water that they can use and replenish to move themselves around and attack enemies, blowing jets at them to do damage. If Mario uses Cappy, he can capture one of these and use their abilities to propel forward or straight up into the air. Several Power Moons, including some pertaining to the main mission of this Kingdom, are reliant on being able to use these enemies to your advantage, and to be honest, with their control scheme, their maneuverability is a lot more intricate and helpful than other captures.
5. What underwater foes, found in the Seaside Kingdom, can not be killed?

Answer: Maw-Ray

Maw-Rays are massive eels that Mario will encounter in the tunnel that stretches between the bay and the lighthouse, and part of the trip to access the Seal atop the Lighthouse will involve navigating through what appears to be a lattice of these moving foes as they burst out of the loose sand. Too big to fight off with Cappy, it's much more likely that Mario will have captured a Cheep-Cheep at this part of the level to ensure passing through without wasting a breath.

This does mean maneuvering carefully, however, to avoid getting eaten.
6. What colour are the Power Moons in this Kingdom?

Answer: Purple

The only Kingdom to use this unique colour, the purple Power Moon belongs only to the Bubblaine region. Before this, the colour purple seemed reserved only for Regional Coins. Anyone who travels to Bubblaine will need ten Power Moons to continue onwards whether they complete the main mission or not, but really, there are more than six dozen Power Moons to collect here, nearly two thirds of which can be collected before Mario fights Bowser at the end of the game.

It means there's plenty to do there!
7. The Crazy Cap Shops in the Seaside Kingdom are in what perhaps unexpected location?

Answer: On the back of Dorrie

While most Kingdoms keep the Crazy Cap shops in one place, usually inside a dedicated space, the Seaside Kingdom will likely be the first you encounter that splits them up, positioning them on the back of two separate Dorries out in the water. One of these, using gold coins for currency, is found next to the Beach House (but will proceed into the water) and will allow Mario to buy the new Pirate Hat and Pirate Outfit.

The other, using the Regional Coins (shaped like shells), is found out at sea.

There are one hundred Regional Coins in this Kingdom.
8. Mollusque-Lanceur will face off against Mario all throughout the Seaside Kingdom. Which of these will damage him?

Answer: Water

Although it seems counter-intuitive, once Mollusque-Lanceur heads off his perch on the Glass Tower, he'll head out into the sea for a battle during which Mario will need to capture a Gushen if he wants to make any headway. What must happen first and foremost is Mario will need to jet up above the boss and spray his head with a jet of water, clearing the lava and making it okay to hit him. From this point, provided Mario can keep on top of it, you can either keep spraying Mollusque-Lanceur until he's defeated, or you can try a well-placed ground pound.
9. Once Mario defeats Mollusque-Lanceur, how will Bubblaine change?

Answer: The region will head into dusk

As soon as Mario claims this Kingdom's only Multi-Moon from the top of the Glass Tower, things will change for the Kingdom, allowing guests and locals to enjoy the actual relaxing coastline the way it's meant to be. To begin, the sky will transform from blue to orange, signifying a shift to dusk. Secondly, the four fountain seals of Sparkle Water will all shoot into the Glass Tower, keeping it perpetually full for the duration of the game. With Bowser already gone, you'll likely be ready to move on to the next Kingdom with that.
10. Which of these sporting activities can Mario engage with in this Kingdom?

Answer: Volleyball

Once Mollusque-Lanceur is no longer terrorizing the poor creatures of Bubblaine, the region will be able to resume its leisurely ways, and that includes fun on the beach. Near the beach house, Mario can come across a volleyball court and he can join one of the locals in a game where he simply needs to spike the ball over the net as many times as he can.

He'll get Power Moons for 15 volleys and 100 volleys. Naturally, it gets speedier as it goes, and yes, you can use Cappy in a pinch.
