Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The gardeners of the Wooded Kingdom appear to be powered by what means?

Answer: Steam

Known as the Steam Gardeners, these nature-keepers patrol the Wooded Kingdom and protect the plant life growing there (good or bad). It's a particularly bad thing that when Mario lands, the Broodals have already arrived there, sending many of the Gardeners into a panic that has them...not paralyzed, but frantically moving.

The Steam Gardeners are generally yellow with different adornments, and all of them look like mechanized watering cans. They charge at specific stations in the Kingdom and, no matter how hard Mario tries, he can't use Cappy to capture them.
2. The Broodals have arrived at the Wooded Kingdom to steal which of these?

Answer: Flowers

Mario can find out from the Steam Gardeners quite quickly that Bowser's reason for visiting the Wooded Kingdom is to get his hands on the Soirée Bouquet for his wedding with Peach. Normally, this arrangement is found at the top of the Sky Garden Tower, and when Mario finally defeats Bowser, that's where the flowers will return, decking out the area with a colourful array of beautifully-tended plantlife.
3. The Piranha Plants in the Wooded Kingdom shoot a poison of what colour?

Answer: Purple

Perhaps akin to their "Super Mario Sunshine" counterparts, the Piranha Plants around the Steam Gardens make things difficult by creating a poison that coats large surfaces and if Mario touches it, he'll take immediate damage. The way to get rid of it is by simply tossing Cappy in its path, cleaning up the area.

The first Mission of this Kingdom, 'Road to Sky Garden', will have Mario ascending the structures of the gardens to fight Piranha Plants. To do so, he needs to toss Cappy so that they eat him, and in that state, they'll be vulnerable to attacks.
4. What colour are the Power Moons in the Wooded Kingdom?

Answer: Dark blue

Once in a blue moon? Try dozens. Though earlier Kingdoms that Mario visits have yellow, green, and pink moons, the Wooded Kingdom goes against type by having its moons be a deep midnight blue. Seaside Kingdom, much further along, shares dark blue as its colour of choice (though it is water-themed to a degree). Wooded Kingdom does have the deep darkness going for it though, with much of its structures and key areas being shrouded in the shadows or painted in richer tones.
5. When Mario 'captures' an Uproot, what can he make them do?

Answer: Stretch

New foes to the "Mario" universe, Uproots are bulbous creatures of plant origin that can be found for the first time in the Wooded Kingdom. Often found in pots, these creatures can be captured using Cappy when vulnerable, and Mario can inhabit their bodies to use their innate ability to grow...though not in a conventional way. With long legs, these onion-like creatures can stretch upward much higher than Mario can jump, so they can reach items and platforms that Mario otherwise wouldn't be able to.
6. Which Broodal does Mario fight in the Wooded Kingdom?

Answer: Spewart

If you chose to visit the Lake Kingdom before the Wooded Kingdom, it stands to reason that you may be facing off against the fourth of four Broodals during the battle here in the Steam Gardens. Spewart is the boss waiting for Mario in the 'Flower Thieves of Sky Garden' Mission, which sends him to the observation deck of the Sky Garden.

In this fight, as is tradition, Mario needs to hop on the boss' head a few times, but this time he has to contend with the same purple poison that the Piranha Plants are making; Spewart can do the same thing, coating the entire arena with it if Mario isn't careful.
7. Torkdrift, found in the Secret Flower Field, can only be attacked from what vantage point?

Answer: Beneath

Once Mario follows the path up through the Kingdom and into the Secret Flower Field, he'll find Torkdrift, a machine placed there to suck up all the flowers. The battle will follow, and in this, Mario must capture an Uproot and use it to fight both Torkdrift and his three shield devices, which will hide themselves in large block fortresses to keep the protection up and running. Mario has to attack from below at all times, using his Uproot to hit the vulnerable bottom side of Torkdrift and his shield generators while also dodging radiating laser blasts. Finishing this fight gets him a Multi-Moon.
8. How many beanstalks can Mario create in the Deep Woods?

Answer: Four

If Mario falls off the land found in the Wooded Kingdom he'll plummet deep into the woods below, and from there he might have a tough time getting out since the only way to return to the actual surface level is by planting seeds in one of four pots of dirt found on the forest floor.

A handful of Steam Gardeners will be happy to provide the beanstalk seed, but Mario will need to contend with a dark, vast expanse to search in and he may find that there's a tyrannosaurus rex wandering around down there.
9. Which of these earlier figures reappears in the Wooded Kingdom?

Answer: Glydon

Mario encounters his first Glydon in the Sand Kingdom, and it's a bit of a welcome return to see one in the Wooded Kingdom because there are a couple of spots that would be otherwise unreachable without the ability to glide over lengthy distances. Waiting at the Observation Deck, high above the rest of the Kingdom, Mario can capture the waiting Glydon and use it to reach Captain Toad in one direction and pursue otherwise blocked-off locations in the other.
10. Does the Wooded Kingdom contain more or less Power Moons than the Lake Kingdom?

Answer: More

When Mario gets enough Power Stars and progresses through the Sand Kingdom, the Odyssey will give him a choice between visiting the Lake Kingdom or the Wooded Kingdom next, and if he chooses one, access to the other will be granted after a predetermined amount of Power Moons are collected from the first.

The catch is that the two Kingdoms were not made equal; the Lake Kingdom, by the end of the game, will have contained forty-four Power Moons and fifty Regional Coins while the Wooded Kingdom will contain eighty with one hundred coins.
