Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mario will end up visiting the Cloud Kingdom almost by chance while the Odyssey is en route to what other destination?

Answer: Metro Kingdom

Leaving either the Lake Kingdom or the Wooded Kingdom, Mario will set sail for the Metro Kingdom in the Odyssey and be interrupted en route by the sight of Bowser's airship. What this means is that there'll be a brief stop-off at the otherwise unknown Cloud Kingdom, a series of secure platforms in the sky that will act as an arena for visitors.

It's one of the smallest Kingdoms in the game, but there are things to do there!
2. The fight against Bowser in the Cloud Kingdom will enable Mario to wear which of these?

Answer: Bowser's hat

The only Mission to be found in the Cloud Kingdom is called 'Hat-to-Hat Combat', and what that means is that Mario will be fighting head-to-head (or hat to hat, as it were) against Bowser himself in the Nimbus Arena. For this boss battle, Mario needs to use Cappy to gain control of Bowser's hat, and when he does he'll be able to punch back with a pair of attached punching gloves that'll send Bowser reeling. Once Bowser is punched back into his airship, the fight will end and Bowser will lash out, sending Mario and the Odyssey falling from the sky to whatever waits below.
3. There is no way to collect any Power Moons upon Mario's first visit to the Cloud Kingdom.

Answer: True

Worse than that, the fight against Bowser doesn't even result in a Multi-Moon, like most boss battles do in other Kingdoms. Since the only thing you can do on that first visit is fight Bowser, it'll take a revisit to start collecting from the meagre amount of Power Moons the Cloud Kingdom actually holds, and the vast majority of those are only claimable once you're able to break the Moon Rock much later in the game.

There are nine total Power Moons in this Kingdom.
4. How many Power Moons does Mario need to repair the Odyssey in the Lost Kingdom?

Answer: 10

The result of the Bowser fight in the Cloud Kingdom, whether Mario wins it or not, will have him hurtling back to the surface of the planet and landing in the Lost Kingdom, a tropical island Kingdom surrounded by a sea of dangerous poison. And worse still is that the Odyssey, in crash-landing to the ground, will be in need of repairs before Mario can continue back on his route to the Metro Kingdom. Cappy will indicate that the only solution is to collect Power Moons; he needs ten to make the repairs, and there are twenty that can be collected on the first visit.
5. Upon arriving in the Lost Kingdom, who will steal Cappy?

Answer: Klepto

Talk about 'Lost'! Once Mario and Cappy get their bearings in this tropical island Kingdom, they'll be attacked from above by Klepto, a bird interested in taking things for itself (and without asking). He'll fly down, grab Cappy, and ascend to a higher spot on the map.

It means Mario has to get up there solo and then, with a well-placed and well-timed ground pound, strike Klepto to get him to relinquish your partner.
6. What captured creature will allow you to stretch around at will?

Answer: Tropical Wigglers

One of the more unique critters of the Lost Kingdom, Tropical Wigglers are a bit different from your regular Wiggler since they don't tend to get aggressive. Instead, they'll stretch themselves like inchworms to move around and will not provoke fights. That said, you'll want to stay out of these creatures' ways because they won't avoid moving into you with their spiky carapaces. Mario can capture one of these and stretch himself around to collect items as he needs to.
7. The Regional Currency of the Lost Kingdom looks like which of these?

Answer: Leaves

Taking on the form of a mundane leaf, it might be surprising to have a Regional Currency here at all (the Cloud Kingdom doesn't!) since the Lost Kingdom is seemingly quite small and remote. This said, there are fifty Purple Coins to be found in this area and they can be spent at a Crazy Cap Shop located at the very top of the island.

Here, Mario has a choice of the typical buyables including an Aviator Cap and Outfit, a sticker, a palm tree, and a mobile full of butterflies for the Odyssey.
8. How many Checkpoints can Mario travel between in the Lost Kingdom?

Answer: Four

For a small Kingdom like this, there aren't too many opportunities for Checkpoints, and with the Odyssey being the first and obvious one, the only others are further up the path. The one at Swamp Hill is the closest, just bringing Mario up to the cliffsides of the main island; the one on the Mountainside Platform brings Mario around to a couple activities in the heart of Tropical Wiggler country; the last is way up above the Kingdom at the Rocky Mountain Summit, accessible by Wall Jump and home to the Crazy Cap Shop.
9. Can any capturable creatures in the Lost Kingdom withstand the poison sea?

Answer: No

The entirety of the Lost Kingdom is surrounded by purple poison that will kill Mario outright if he manages to touch it (not terribly unlike the poison created by the Piranha Plants in the Wooded Kingdom...just worse). What this means is that a lot of Power Moons and Purple Coins will be right where you don't need to be, and that'll mean using Cappy and using the Tropical Wigglers' extended reach to navigate small platforms or reach just a bit further into the unknown to get what you need.
10. Who of these appears the highest up in the Kingdom?

Answer: Glydon

This makes a fair bit of sense since the Glydon makes the most use out of a longer drop; his glide ability is most advantageous with the most runway. Glydon can be found with the Crazy Cap Shop at the top of the Kingdom, and because there are no local denizens willing to operate it, it's staffed by Toads.

Talkatoo is the next down the island, on a plateau below the Rocky Mountain Summit; Captain Toad is found in a nook within the cliff walls (reachable by Tropical Wiggler); Hint Toad is at ground level near the Odyssey.
