Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cap Kingdom is, technically, the first Kingdom Mario is sent to in this game.

Answer: True

After a fight with Bowser, Mario will be unceremoniously cast off the Koopa King's airship at the start of the game, and with that he'll be dropped down into the Cap Kingdom town of Bonneton, which has already felt the wrath of Bowser and his lackeys. As he'll see when he steps foot into the village proper, all of the locals' houses and airships will have been wrecked in the attack.

This location is the first at which the player has control over Mario, so it's the perfect time to get the controls down from a basics standpoint.
2. One of the citizens of Bonneton, coincidentally, has been kidnapped by Bowser. This is because they were disguised as which of these?

Answer: A tiara

Cap Kingdom, as Mario will quickly discover, is inhabited by unique Boos that can transform themselves at will, and his main contact there, Cappy, will reveal not only that he saved part of Mario's hat during the battle on Bowser's ship, but that his little sister has been kidnapped, having been placed on Princess Peach's head.

It leads Mario and Cappy to team up with Cappy taking a spot on Mario's head, emulating his old hat but with new powers.
3. Mario's first objective in the Cap Kingdom is to get to the top of what local landmark?

Answer: Top-Hat Tower

As soon as Mario brings Cappy along for the trip, the objective will change because Cappy and locals will point out the threat almost immediately. As it turns out, some of Bowser's henchmen have taken up a spot at the top of Top-Hat Tower, and ridding the town of their presence should be of the utmost importance. All Mario needs to do is bring forth the bridge, open the passage into the tower, and head on up.
4. The village of Bonneton is surrounded by which of these?

Answer: Thick fog

A Victorian-inspired setting in which the village and the villagers appear to resemble hats, Bonneton seems shrouded at all times, both by its black, grey, and white colour palette (anyone say ghosts?) and the fact that it's surrounded by a dense fog that will cause Mario to lose a life if he falls into it (by which he loses gold coins).

There are crafty ways of navigating the fog, however, provided you use Cappy to your advantage.
5. In order to progress in this Kingdom, Mario must use Cappy to transform into which of these?

Answer: Frog

If you head into Top-Hat Tower you'll find that it's not really possible for Mario to jump as high as he needs to to ascend the tall platforms waiting for him. This is where Cappy comes in. If you shoot Cappy at one of the frogs in the tower, you'll discover the being's true powers and you'll be sucked into the body and consciousness of the frog, taking on its abilities (and sporting a moustache, obviously). With this you'll be able to jump to higher heights than before.

Outside the tower, upon a second visit to the Cap Kingdom, you'll also be able to use Cappy to inhabit the body of the Paragoombas.
6. Which of the four Broodals does Mario face in Cap Kingdom?

Answer: Topper

Once Mario reaches Top-Hat Tower for the first time he'll encounter the Broodals, Bowser's henchmen for this adventure, who will have been sent along to Cap Kingdom to hamper their abilities to fight back. Although these critters are ready to depart, Topper, the green Broodal, will stay back to fight, commencing the first actual boss battle of the game. For this, all Mario needs to do is use Cappy to hit projectiles (and Topper) to make him vulnerable to actual jump attacks.

Completing the fight will open up a power line that Mario and Cappy can ride all the way to the Cascade Kingdom.
7. The purple Regional Coins of Cap Kingdom are shaped like which of these?

Answer: Top hats

Although they won't appear during Mario's unexpected initial visit to Cap Kingdom, the Regional Coins for this area will appear in full on the first revisit (which can be done after you touch down in the Sand Kingdom for the first time). Doing this will allow you to collect the top hat-shaped purple coins, of which there are fifty, in Cap Kingdom to purchase items from the centrally-located Crazy Cap shop. Each Kingdom has differently-shaped Coins and can only be spent in their home region.
8. Mario can purchase which of these at the Crazy Cap Shop?

Answer: Black Tuxedo

The Crazy Cap Shop generally sells cosmetics, stickers, and small souvenirs that Mario can use to outfit his airship down the line, and upon revisiting Cap Kingdom, you'll find the shop open in the middle of Bonneton. The offerings here relate to the Kingdom's most notable things and the outfits lean into the region's Victorian stylings, so you can dress Mario up in a Top Hat and a Black Tuxedo if you spend the coins.

Besides these you can also purchase a Plush Frog (with a hat!) and a model of Top-Hat Tower.
9. Which of these "Mario" series characters can be found in this Kingdom once Mario returns to it for the first time?

Answer: Captain Toad

With the Broodals gone, the top of Top-Hat Tower will become prime real estate for...well... anyone. And with that, Captain Toad will appear here in an early instance, claiming to be travelling through the Kingdoms looking for Power Moons. All you need to do to get one from him is speak to him.

Not only that, but he'll indicate he's come up to the top of Bonneton to look at the moon. If you do the same, later on, with a pair of binoculars you'll unlock one more Power Moon for your troubles.
10. More Power Moons become available to Mario in the Cap Kingdom when he defeats Bowser. Alternatively, more appear after which of these occurs?

Answer: The Moon Rock is destroyed

Just because you think you have all the Power Moons in a Kingdom doesn't necessarily mean that's the case. Not only will defeating Bowser simply change all of the Kingdoms due to this planet-shaking event, but the Moon Rock, located out in the fog, will glow. Hitting this will allow even more Power Moons to situate themselves throughout the Cap Kingdom, even some that appear in new pipes and hidden areas only accessible with the Moon Rock's powers.
