Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Much of the Luncheon Kingdom is covered in which of these?

Answer: Magma

The trip to Luncheon Kingdom will bring Mario to the foot of Mount Volbano, an active volcanic region home to a very festive populace, but foreboding in its own way since the whole area is surrounded by dense pools of magma. All is not lost, however, since certain captures will allow Mario to navigate the heat without fear, and not to mention, most of the Power Moons he can collect still require careful navigation of the land (and quick movements to avoid touching anything not solid).
2. Which Broodal makes their return in the Luncheon Kingdom?

Answer: Spewart

It may have been a while, at this point, since you've encountered the Broodals, especially if you're heading into this Kingdom from the Seaside Kingdom. You don't need to advance too far to find them in their airship though, diving immediately into 'The Broodals Are After Some Cookin'' as your first Mission here, encountering a rematch agains Spewart at the first opportunity while the others head off to enjoy some Stupendous Stew.

This fight with Spewart might be easier than the one in Wooded Kingdom because the arena is larger.

The tactic is the same. Knock his hat off and jump on him when you can and you'll get the Power Moon.
3. There are a number of destroyable rocks in Luncheon Kingdom implied, by one Mission, to be made of which of these?

Answer: Cheese

Once Mario makes his way through Peronza Plaza he'll have his sights set upon a second Mission, this one sending him through the magma fields towards a far-away plateau. In between the two, however, is an area covered in yellow rocks that are implied to be cheese, and a key Power Moon, needed to advance the main Mission chain, is found underneath these piles of tough matter. Mario himself can't destroy these, so he'll need to get creative with Cappy to accomplish the task.
4. The Hammer Bros. found in Luncheon Kingdom throw which items?

Answer: Frying pans

Naturally, a number of classic enemies show up in Luncheon Kingdom with an eye for region-appropriate fashion (even the Goombas wear chef toques). The Hammer Bros. are particularly useful though since, once Mario knocks off their chef toques, he can use Cappy to capture them and make use of their weapons.

The skillets that these foes toss are particularly effective at destroying cheese rocks, and with their ability to jump quite high, they make for a very useful role to inhabit during your visit.
5. To reach the big pot at the highest point of the Kingdom (for the first time), Mario must transform into which of these?

Answer: A big slab of meat

If Mario can overcome the cheese rocks he'll build a path that takes him further up the side of Mount Volbano to the Meat Plateau, and there, using Cappy, he'll be able to capture the giant slab of meat hidden under a pile of salt, clear the seasoning, and make it more apparent to Cookatiel that something needs to be added to the pot on the volcano. Doing this will open up the way to one of the Kingdom's Multi-Moons...but it will change things a bit.
6. After Mario makes it into the big pot for the first time, the Kingdom's landscape will change permanently.

Answer: True

Completion of the Kingdom's third Mission ('Big Pot on the Volcano: Dive In!') and collection of the first Multi-Moon atop Mount Volbano will send Mario blasting back to the start of the area and the Odyssey due to an unexpected eruption brought on by Cookatiel.

In doing this, Mario will end up blocking many of his earlier paths, but unlock new routes, blast cannons that can be used in Lava Bubble form, and a cavern that will open a path up the back of Mount Volbano. Some of the changes as a result of this are temporary, but some will stay for the remainder of the game.
7. How many times must you jump on Cookatiel to defeat him?

Answer: Three

Once Mario makes it to the top of Mount Volbano for a second time and dives into the big pot as a Lava Bubble, he'll face off in a showdown against the Kingdom's boss, Cookatiel, who's up on high guarding the source of the Stupendous Stew. The battle here is as expected-- you need to jump on his head three times, as is tradition-- but because Cookatiel takes to the sky by default, Mario needs to wait for the best opportunity to get up to him. Usually, this is in moments where the bird is spewing into the pot, creating a path that he can swim up to get to a better attack point. Three hits spells a Multi-Moon.
8. Mario can attempt to add which of these golden vegetables to the big pot in Peronza Plaza to help make the Stupendous Stew?

Answer: Turnip

All in all there are three Golden Turnips to be found in the Luncheon Kingdom, usually by using Cappy to dig them up wherever they might be growing, and then it's up to Mario to carry them over to Peronza Plaza, home of the Volbonans, and toss them into the massive cooking pot for Power Moons (of which there are three for this series of Missions).

These tasks are similar to the Power Moon seed hunts in earlier Kingdoms, only without waiting for the plants to grow.
9. The Regional Coins of the Luncheon Kingdom take the form of what food?

Answer: Tomato

The purple coins you find throughout this Kingdom are nearly spherical in nature, unlike in other locations, because they're round like tomatoes, another indication that this region is as food-centric as its name lets on. In this map there are one hundred tomato-shaped coins to collect, most of which will contribute to paying for the Chef Hat, Chef Suit, the Painter's Cap, and the Painter Outfit.

The rest, if you collect everything, will go towards more accoutrements for the Odyssey, per usual.
10. If Mario defeats a Magmato, what happens?

Answer: It turns into a pool of magma

Magmatos are new enemies that first appear in the Luncheon Kingdom, and they look like big, red tomatoes as they roll around the solid (and safe) surfaces. Mario can easily dispatch them by jumping on top of them or using Cappy to break them apart, but in doing so, he'll turn them into a mushy and piping-hot pool of magma that will act as an obstacle until it vanishes. Fortunately, with some clever maneuvering, Mario can also use these puddles as jumping points for captured Lava Bubbles.
