Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Before Mario finally reaches Bowser's Kingdom, he'll be unexpectedly detoured to what other location?

Answer: Ruined Kingdom

As Mario and Cappy head to Bowser's Kingdom, they'll be stopped mid-flight by Bowser who, riding a massive dragon, will blast them to the ground to crash land, this time in the Ruined Kingdom. While Bowser heads onward, Mario will need to land in Crumbleden, take up a sword, and take down the Ruined Dragon to collect enough Power Moons to repair the Odyssey (again). Smashing down on the boss here a few times will get Mario the Power Moons he needs and then her can be on his way.
2. Throughout Bowser's Kingdom, Mario will encounter Pokios. When captured, they can move around using which of these?

Answer: Their noses

Landing in Bowser's Kingdom, Mario will find his way into the Third Courtyard area of the region to find a number of gardens and walled areas that are, otherwise, inaccessible without help. By this point it should be quite apparent that capturing new creatures is the way through. Enter Pokio.

These small birds pack a particularly painful punch because they can extend their nose outwards like a spear. When captured, Mario can use them to stick into walls, then flick around to scale them in any direction.
3. The first Mission in Bowser's Kingdom is 'Infiltrate Bowser's Castle!'. At the end of this, Mario has to defeat which of these?

Answer: Stairface Ogre

A hearty enemy for sure, the Stairface Ogre is similar to a Whomp in that he uses a crushing blow to put a quick end to Mario if our hero can't move out of its path fast enough. When the ogre drops his hammer though, you'll find that he creates a natural staircase with his body, giving a short time in which you can ascend to his head and smash a button that causes him to explode.

The reward will be a Power Moon and access to the Second Courtyard.
4. The 'Smart Bombing' Mission has Mario searching for which of these?

Answer: Moon Shards

When Mario reaches the Second Courtyard he'll be pushed into his second Mission, 'Smart Bombing', which will also require the use of Pokios to navigate difficult areas and handle-- or nudge at the very least-- massive bombs that generate from tunnels in the fortress. Using these will allow Marrio to destroy metal boxes, some of which will need to be opened to get every last Moon Shard.

When this is done, the Power Moon will appear and Mario can continue into a small garden.
5. How many Regional Coins can Mario collect in Bowser's Kingdom?

Answer: 100

Bowser's Kingdom is a bit of a sprawling region, and Mario will need to dig into a number of nooks and crannies to get all hundred of the purple coins laid out. In this Kingdom, the coins are shaped like coins, but with Bowser's face on one side of them. As per usual, they can be spent at the Crazy Cap Shop, this time for Samurai gear, Happi Festival outfits, and other souvenirs.
6. Once Mario reaches the Souvenir Store island, he'll start seeing Jizos. What do these resemble?

Answer: Statues

Small statues wearing traditional hats, Jizos are made of stone, and while Mario can capture them, he'll find them difficult to maneuver all too easily. That said, they can be used to obtain a number of Power Stars and are ultimately necessary for crossing large, dangerous gaps covered in spikes. Jizos only appear in Bowser's Kingdom, and are one of the latest Captures in the game.
7. Arriving at the Beneath the Keep section of Bowser's Castle, you'll be prompted to fight two Broodals. Which ones?

Answer: Hariet and Topper

At this point in the game, Hariet and Topper will be the only Broodals yet to have a rematch as Spewart returns in Luncheon Kingdom and Rango stops by in the Snow Kingdom to get in the way. Fortunately, for the third Mission in Bowser's Kingdom, you don't need to fight both Broodals at once.

Instead, you can choose who to fight first with Hariet appearing in one battle, bringing with her double the explosive, spiky hairpieces, and with Topper appearing in the other with more hats than ever before. Once both are defeated, a Power Moon emerges and Mario can get to his final showdown (here at least).
8. Does Bowser appear in Bowser's Kingdom?

Answer: Yes

Once Mario makes it to the top of the tallest pagoda in Bowser's Castle, after fighting Hariet and Topper, he'll reach Bowser, Peach, and Tiara just in time to intercept their departure. As it turns out, Bowser plans to hold his wedding on the moon, so there's still one more stop to make before it's all said and done.

He'll punch Mario away from the ship and leave him to the Broodals, who'll give him one last fight before he can move on.
9. The final showdown in Bowser's Kingdom is against RoboBrood, a robot that appears, on the inside, to be made of which material?

Answer: Wood

Once Mario lands in the Showdown Arena behind the Great Gate of Bowser's Castle he'll have the ultimate Broodal face-off before him-- all four of the mini-bosses at once. And this time, the quartet will take up positions in a giant mech known as RoboBrood, which will rise from the ground and don metal plating to fight.

In this battle, the boss will toss bombs are Mario, but using a captured Pokio, he'll be able to hit them back, shattering the metal armor to reveal wood underneath. Getting atop the being whenever possible to knock the Broodals out of the robot will be the objective.
10. Once Mario completes all of the Missions in Bowser's Kingdom, he'll be able to cross the map with ease via what means?

Answer: Pipe

Bowser's Kingdom is a long one, physically, since it sprawls in a linear fashion through several distant courtyards and platforms. Getting to the end can be quite a slog, intentionally, since it presents less of an open concept like a lot of earlier Kingdoms. Fortunately, once you defeat RoboBrood, a Toad will open up a single pipe, accessible from near the Odyssey at the area's starting point, that will take Mario to a spot right next to the Great Gate. If RoboBrood is done, it means that a number of side-challenges and Power Moons will become accessible for the first time, so it's worth scouring from scratch from that point.
