Answer: Lyon

Lyon is the third-largest city in France. Located at the confluence of the Rhone and Saone rivers, it is the capital of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Region. The Romans founded the city in 43 B.C. under its original name of Lugdunum. The city is a major commercial and industrial centre, and is the host of the headquarters of the police organisation Interpol.

Lucerne (also known as Luzern) is the capital of Lucerne Canton, and lies on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The city is a major tourist destination, with numerous festivals taking place there throughout the year.

Answer: Livorno

Livorno is a port on the Ligurian Sea in the region of Tuscany. As well as being a port, the city is a popular tourist destination, with many museums and ancient buildings. The Genoese called the city Ligorno which is where the Leghorn moniker was derived from.

Car manufacture is a major industry there, whilst Leipzig University is one of the oldest in Europe, having been founded in 1409.

Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in Europe, sandwiched between Belgium, France and Germany. The city of Luxembourg lies at the confluence of the Alzette and Petrusse rivers. Answer: Loire

The Loire River rises at Sainte-Eulalie in the Massif Central, and flows first northwards then westwards for 625 miles to its mouth at Saint-Nazaire, where it discharges into the Bay of Biscay. Large cities that it flows through include Orleans, Tours and Nantes.
