Answer: India

Kedgeree was originally an Indian dish which was picked up by the British during the time of the Raj. It is basically a light dish of fish (normally smoked haddock), rice and eggs. A small amount of curry powder is added for the curried version but it is also delicious left plain. Some people like to add peas to it and some add sultanas.

Eggs Benedict consist of two halves of an English muffin toasted and topped with ham or bacon. On top of this sit two poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce is poured over it. In the 1860s, Mrs. LeGrand Benedict, a regular customer of Delmonico's, the very first restaurant or public eating room established in the United States, wanted something different to the items on the menu.

She discussed this with the Chef Charles Ranhofe and he devised this delicious dish for her.

Kellogg not only treated the rich people who could afford to pay the hotel prices, but also the poor who could not afford medical attention.

Although China is now the main producer of grapefruit it is believed to have originated in Barbados, and is a cross breed between the pomelo fruit and the sweet orange. Doctor Bircher-Benner was a Swiss/German physician and researcher who discovered the great benefits to health of eating fresh fruit and vegetables. In 1897 he opened a clinic in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, called Vital Force, where he treated many notable celebrities of the time including Tsar Nicholas II, Sir Stafford Cripps (former chancellor of the exchequer of the UK) and Golda Meir (prime minister of Israel).

His original recipe includes rolled oats, grated apple, sweetened condensed milk, nuts and lemon juice.

These days muesli contains a much larger proportion of oats to fruit and nuts and can be served with any kind of milk or fruit juice.

Answer: A pancake

An uttapam is a thick pancake with toppings all cooked in a batter made from rice flour and mungo beans which have been soaked overnight. The toppings can be any mix of vegetables, nearly always including onion. Tomato uttapam is especially enjoyed by children. It is served with chutney.
