Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This actress is part of a fairly famous family. She has starred alongside Morgan Freeman twice and turned down the title role in "Catwoman" (2005) to ironically star in the Broadway revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".

Answer: Ashley Judd

Ashley Judd starred alongside Morgan Freeman in 1995's "Kiss the Girls" as well as 2002's "High Crimes". She did not, however, return for the "Kiss the Girls" sequel, which was 2001's "Along Came a Spider", despite Freeman's involvement. She works adamantly for youth AIDS awareness programs and is one of their top spokespeople.

When she was younger she was paid $10 a day to clean her country singing mother (Naomi) and sister's (Wynonna) tour bus.
2. This actor has starred in films such as "Far From Heaven" (2003) and "Mr. Baseball" (1992). He was also the spokesperson for "AllState Insurance" from 2003 - 2006.

Answer: Dennis Haysbert

Haysbert is probably best known for his memorable TV roles on "24" and "The Unit". He also shares the distinct honour, with Corbin Bernson, as being the only two actors to appear in all three "Major League" movies.
3. This actor is a favourite of director Robert Rodriguez. His characters' names in Rodriguez's films come from the names of different knives (ex. Machete, Razor).

Answer: Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo is, in fact, Robert Rodriguez's cousin. He remains one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood doing, on average, four films per year. Among the movies he has appeared in, are "Desperado" (1995), "Con Air" (1996) and "Animal Factory" (2000).
4. Normally appearing in Jerry Bruckheimer productions, this character actor is normally one part of a cast of many. The ensembles that he has been a part of include "Armageddon" (1998), "Black Hawk Down" (2001) and Best Picture winner "Crash"(2005). One of his most notable abilities is playing one heck of a bad guy.

Answer: William Fichtner

Although not many know this, Fichtner had the uncredited role of the marriage counsellor in the 2005 hit "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". He is very versatile and has proven himself in numerous different genres. He has done comedy, "The Longest Yard" (2005), thrillers, "Switchback" (1997), and science fiction, "Contact"(1997), all in parts that have left an impression in the mind of the viewer.
5. This Oscar winning actor, with a famous Oscar winning daughter, accepted Katherine Hepburn's final Academy Award on her behalf when she was not present to receive it herself. He also starred in the film in which Eric Roberts received his first Oscar nomination.

Answer: Jon Voight

Although he has had a rocky relationship with daughter Angelina Jolie, the two still count as both winning an Academy Award. Voight won his in 1980 for Best Actor in the film "Coming Home" and Jolie won hers in 1999 for Best Supporting Actress in "Girl, Interupted".
6. She has starred in the film that features the quote: "Remember, remember the 5th of November. The gunpowder, treason, and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot." It focuses on an unknown terrorist who idolizes Guy Fawkes.

Answer: Natalie Portman

Being good friends with director Mike Nichols has paid off for Natalie. Her first film that she starred in for Nichols, "Closer" (2004), earned her both her first Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win. For her role as Evey in the film "V for Vendetta" (2006) (in which the quote in the question in from) she shaved her head and learned to speak with a British accent.
7. He portrayed the infamous Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs" (1991).

Answer: Ted Levine

Because of his sadistic version of the character in the film, Levine had trouble getting parts, aside from that of psychotic killers. To work against this image, he plays numerous authorative figure characters such as cop Lou Toback in "American Gangster" (2007) and Sheriff Timberlake in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (2007). Perhaps his best known role since Buffalo Bill is playing Captain Stottlemeyer on the acclaimed TV show, "Monk", opposite Tony Shaloub.
8. Easily seen as one of the greatest actors of all-time, he is part of the small group to have had the honor of winning both Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor Oscars at the Academy Awards. He won his Best Supporting Actor Oscar for playing a role that was performed strictly in Italian.

Answer: Robert DeNiro

DeNiro won his Best Actor award for "Raging Bull" (1980) and his strictly Italian Best Supporting Actor win was for "The Godfather Part II" (1974). Other actors who have achieved the same dual award status that DeNiro has are, Jack Nicholson, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman.
9. He and John Cusack have starred together in numerous different films. These have included "Say Anything" (1989), "The Grifters" (1990), "Grosse Point Blank" (1997) and "Runaway Jury" (2003).

Answer: Jeremy Piven

Probably best known for his TV roles on "Ellen" and "Entourage", Piven has finally been receiving the recognition he deserves. (He won an Emmy for the latter). He has been a recognizable face since appearing in teen movies of the 80s and now in the 2000s, has been reaching consistent A-List status.
10. This ensemble piece was a remake of a previous TV movie that the director once made. Its diverse cast included three Oscars winners at the time of its release (all of whom have been nominated on numerous occasions). The film opens at a subway station and ends at an airport, the exact opposite of comparable film, "Collateral" (2004).

Answer: Heat

"Heat" (1995), directed by Michael Mann, starred Ashley Judd, Dennis Haysbert, Danny Trejo, William Fichtner, Jon Voight, Natalie Portman, Ted Levine, Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Piven. More notably, the film also starred Al Pacino and Val Kilmer, alongside a massive string of other supporting players including, Tom Noonan, Tom Sizemore, Amy Brenneman, Wes Studi, Mykelti Williamson, Hank Azaria, Diane Venora and Tone Loc.

The film concerns a professional thief (DeNiro) attempting to pull a massive bank robbery in Los Angeles, during the middle of the day. All the while, he is entangled in a consistent game of cat and mouse with an eccentric cop (Pacino), who is obsessed with catching him.

The movie is often compared to Mann's later directing effort "Collateral" (2004) as it is highly debated as to whether or not Robert DeNiro's thief "Neil McCauly", and Tom Cruise's hitman "Vincent", are related in any way.
