After the partners of his law firm discover that Andy (Tom Hanks) has AIDS, a brief that Andy has been working on is conveniently 'lost'. Andy rightly assumes that the firm has orchestrated this situation as an excuse to fire him. When Andy decides to sue the firm, he realises that there are few people willing to take on his previous employers, or indeed, to take on a gay client suffering from AIDS. After initially refusing to take the case, Joe Miller (Denzel Washington) finally agrees to help Andy who eventually gets his day in court.

Bruce Springsteen wrote and performed the film's moving theme song "Streets of Philadelphia".

Building houses on an old graveyard may have seemed like a good idea to the developers, but this decision turns out to be a disaster for the Freeling family after their home is haunted by malevolent poltergeists. The poltergeists have a connection with the Freeling's youngest daughter Carol Anne (Heather O'Rourke) and terrorise the family before abducting Carol Anne through a 'portal' in her bedroom closet.

Heather O'Rourke who played Carol Anne Freeling in "Poltergeist" sadly died from cardiopulmonary arrest and intestinal stenosis aged only 12.

Answer: Pleasantville

Twins David (Toby Maguire) and Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) have little in common. When they are transported into the black and white world of the TV series "Pleasantville" their presence begins to affect the previously monotone lives of all its residents. Both David and Jennifer are forced to take a look at how they have been living their lives, and decide whether or not to face their own fears.

"Pleasantville" uses a clever blend of black and white with colour film, and also uses this to reference racism in the 1950s and 1960s in the United States.

When Elizabeth Bennet (Knightley) meets Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen), it is definitely not love at first sight. However, as they learn more about each other, their feelings grow and they are able to overcome their initial beliefs and find themselves falling in love.

Jane Austin's novel "Pride and Prejudice" was first published on 28 January 1813 and has since been adapted into numerous film and stage productions.

For 200 years the Owens women have been cursed. Any man who falls in love with them faces an untimely death. The young Sally (Bullock) casts a spell to prevent her ever falling in love and thus cursing a man to death. A television pilot based on the movie "Practical Magic" was produced by Sandra Bullock, but was not picked up.

When she catches the eye of "richie" Blane McDonnagh (Andrew McCarthy) it seems that Duckie is never to get the girl of his dreams. The blond girl who dances with Duckie at the end of this movie is played by, at the time unknown, Kristy Swanson.
