Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In a 1975 thriller, a startled New England law enforcement officer concluded that a larger watercraft would be needed to complete a mission. What actor played Martin Brody?

Answer: Roy Scheider

Scheider's character was the police chief of a small town and was hunting the maneater by tossing chum into the ocean. Suddenly, the huge, 25 foot great white shark popped out of the water near him. This prompted the famous quote, "You're going to need a bigger boat."
"Jaws", the 1975 Steven Spielberg thriller, had been running for many minutes before the audience actually saw the scary fish that had been devouring swimmers.
2. What Hollywood icon portrayed Frank, a gunman who brutally murdered a terrified and helpless little boy in a 1969 western?

Answer: Henry Fonda

Recognised by many film critics as a western masterpiece, Sergio Leone's 1968 "Once Upon a Time in the West" shocked Fonda fans. Many were unable to accept an actor, who had played "Young Mr. Lincoln" and "Mr. Roberts", as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer.
3. What goody-two-shoes actress bared her breasts in a 1981 comedy?

Answer: Julie Andrews

Blake Edward directed his wife, Julie Andrews, in the adult comedy. "S.O.B." In the film, Andrews played Sally Miles, a virginal America's Sweetheart movie actress. Her down-on-his-luck husband, played by Richard Mulligan, tried to salvage a huge movie flop by getting his wife to appear nude in his film. This role certainly shocked many "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound of Music" fans.

Answer: Jaye Davidson

In "The Crying Game", set in Northern Ireland, an IRA terrorist captured, and later executed a British soldier. The doomed soldier's last request was that his captor look up his girlfriend, Dil. Later, the former terrorist, played by Stephen Rea, found Dil working in a London hair salon, and the couple became romantically involved.

A full frontal shot of Dil, played by Davidson, shockingly revealed his maleness with absolute certainty. Audiences were as shocked with the plot twist as was Dil's lover.
5. Who played the movie producer who found a bloody pet part in his bed in a 1972 film classic?

Answer: John Marley

Hollywood producer Jack Woltz learned the hard way that you do not cross "The Godfather". When Woltz refused a request to cast Don Corleone's godson in a movie, he awoke to find the severed head of his champion thoroughbred racehorse in bed with him. The godson got the part.
6. In a 1967 film, an attractive criminal couple was machine gunned in an ambush. Who played the unfortunate lady?

Answer: Faye Dunaway

Dunaway and Warren Beatty were "Bonnie and Clyde", depression era bank robbers who met their end in a hail of bullets on a dusty road.
The violence and savagery of director Arthur Penn's graphic scene of bullets riddling the actor's bodies was, at the time, unprecedented in American film.
7. At the end of a 1968 film, what actor saw an American monument jutting out of the sand on a beach?

Answer: Charlton Heston

9. In a 1980 film, a young man discovered that an evil villain was his father. Who played the son?

Answer: Mark Hamill

Towards the end of the second "Star Wars" movie, "The Empire Strikes Back", Jedi knight and rebel hero Luke Skywalker battled the Empire's Darth Vader. As Luke was hanging on for dear life, he heard the voice of Vader proclaim "I am your father". The evil Vader was played by actor David Prowse and his voice by James Earl Jones.
10. In a 1999 film, a man discovered that he was dead. Who played the unsuspecting doctor?

Answer: Bruce Willis

With only a few minutes left in "The Sixth Sense", child psychologist Malcolm Crowe came home to find his wife asleep, while a video of their wedding played on the television. As she dropped his wedding ring on to the floor, he shockingly remembered the words of his young patient, "I see people. They don't know that they're dead."
