The gothic rock band known as Bauhaus formed in England in 1978. Their name comes from an old German art school known as The Staatliches Bauhaus which opened in 1919. The school was shut down by the Nazi regime in 1933. The band Bauhaus broke up in 1983, but have attempted to reunite on several occasions.

Answer: Bela Lugosi

Bauhaus released the song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" as a single in 1979. Bela Lugosi (1882-1956) was a Hungarian born actor who immigrated to the United States. His most famous role was that of Count Dracula in the film "Dracula" released in 1931. He also had various other roles in horror films during the 1930's, 1940's and early 1950's.
