Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The "Look Sharp!" song "Chances" was written in which country?

Answer: Spain

Roxette had a brief vacation at Marbella, Spain in 1987. Per had written the song "Chances" outside the beach resort in Puerto Banus.
2. The song "The Centre of the Heart" was released first in an online music file sharing website. How long before its official premiere did the single appear?

Answer: 39 days

"The Centre of the Heart" appeared in Napster, an internet music file sharing site, on 8th of February, 2001, although the official release of this single was marked as 19th of March, 2001. (Note: Then, Napster users could listen to this song. Today, it is not in the site anymore :( *sob*)

In short, it took 39 days from the online release to the official release of this track.
3. The phrase "Inganakee Leo Yo" was sung in which Roxette track?

Answer: It will Take a Long Long Time

"Inganakee Leo Yo" was the mantra used by Per while recording the demo of "It will Take a Long Long Time" (one of the longest song titles Roxette had). He remembered watching a Rutles movie - he got the mantra idea there, desperately.
4. "Stars" was the LAST Roxette track that entered the British charts.

Answer: True

"Stars" was originally written as a heavy guitar rock track, but it turned out to be a techno-dance hit - the song was entirely changed.

For countries like Finland, Norway and Germany, it was more successful than "Wish I Could Fly", but in UK, it was the last Roxette track to rank, up at number 56.
5. Roxette have sung the track "You Don't Understand Me" in a Spanish version.

Answer: True

The Spanish version of "You Don't Understand Me" was recorded and supposed to be included in "Baladas en Espanyol" album; nobody can remember why it is missing in this Roxette album.
6. Roxette performed at Abbey Road Sessions in November 1995. They covered which original Beatles track from way back in the 1960s?

Answer: Help!

"Help!" was the original Beetles track (and a movie title also) released in 1965. It was covered by various artists like Deep Purple, Tina Turner, Bananarama, Roxette, and other singers around the world.

Listening to the Roxette's cover version of "Help!", it was sang by Marie with acoustic guitar and back-up vocals by Per.
7. "Dansar ner for ditt stup i rekordfart" (Swedish for "I am Dancing Down by Until Death in Recordfart") was the original Swedish title of "Goodbye to You".

Answer: False

According to Per Gessle, his Swedish composition, "Dansar ner for ditt stup i rekordfart" (English for "I am Dancing Down by Until Death in Recordfart"*) was very foolish to read - just the title. Instead, he recomposed this lyric into English and "Soul Deep" was born, under Roxette's name as "Pearls of Passion" track.

Additonal info: this song was Per's second Swedish composition fully revamped into an English track, after "Neverending Love".

*Remarks: After miss april used the online translator, Swedish to English translation was edited by the author for clearer context.
8. Which 1994 movie had Roxette's "Crash! Boom! Bang!" as part of the soundtrack?

Answer: NeverEnding Story III

Roxette's "Crash! Boom! Bang!" was included in a 20 soundtrack album of "NeverEnding Story III: Escape From Fantasia", a 1994 fantasy film directed by Peter MacDonald. It was issued only in Japan on CD format - very rare to find.
9. The 35th single from Roxette was entitled "Real Sugar".

Answer: No

From 2001 "Room Service" album, Roxette's 35th single in their entire career went to "Milk and Toast and Honey", a medium successful hit in UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden.

"Real Sugar", on the other hand, was the predecessor of "Milk and Toast and Honey".
10. These songs were the tracks from Roxette's "Joyride" album. Which one of these song was an outtake from the album?

Answer: Queen of Rain

In 1991, "Queen of Rain" was originally recorded for Roxette's "Joyride" album but Marie and Per referred "Perfect Day" over the previous song as the closing song for the said album. It was later released as a single in their "Tourism" live album in 1992.
11. This lead single from Roxette's compilation, "Don't Bore Us - Get to The Chorus" had this significance behind it - Roxette's Per Gessle had co-written the song with American composer Desmond Child. Which song was it?

Answer: You Don't Understand Me

"You Don't Understand Me" was Per's song collaboration with American hitmaker Desmond Child. After keeping the song, Per had asked Marie to record the vocals and as he predicted, it became a Roxette track.
12. This "Roxette Hits" single was remixed and promoted as a special CD combo.

Answer: Reveal

A single from 2006's "Roxette Hits". Roxette was not satisfied in the original version of "Reveal". Instead, they added two remixed tracks and the "One Wish" video in the "Reveal" remix CD.
13. "It Will Take a Long Long Time" was proposed to be a single in the soundtrack of which 1999 romantic-comedy film?

Answer: Runaway Bride

Fans recalled the 1990 film "Pretty Woman" where "It Must Have Been Love" was the smash hit around the world. For this "Runaway Bride" case, "It Will Take a Long Long Time" appeared in the film but sadly, it was not included in its soundtrack album.
14. According to Per, his choice as Marie's best song composition went to ____________________.

Answer: Waiting for the Rain

Per recalled that Marie had the talent to compose some songs, like he used to. He chose "Waiting for the Rain" as Marie's best song ever composed; the runner-up went to "Watercolors in the Rain".
15. Which of these songs was not included in Roxette's "Have a Nice Day" album?

Answer: all of these were outtakes

"Little Miss Sorrow", a "Have a Nice Day" outtake first appeared in 2003's "The Pop Hits".

Both "It Hurts" and "Happy Together" were also removed in "Have a Nice Day" track listings but these were also included in "The Rox Box" album.
