Properly spelled, this band's name should read "The Mermaids". This group began singing at an early age and began to show a promising sound in their mid-teens. Their only hit, "Icicles and Popsicles", was composed by David Gates and recorded at Chattahoochie Records by recording manager Kim Fowley.
