1. Which of these is not a throw?

Answer: Kazuri-kesa-gatame

There are two variations of kesa-gatame, Hon and kazuri. Hon-kesa gatame is a hold-down around your opponent's neck, while kazuri-kesa-gatame is a hold-down around your opponent's shoulder.
2. What is the name of the person who is throwing you?

Answer: tori

A uke is the opponent, or the person who is being thrown. Yami means dark in Japanese, and a dojang is the Chinese equivalent to a jodoka's Japanese dojo.
3. What does juji-gatame mean?

Answer: cross armlock

Arm crush lock is ude-gatame, sliding collar necklock is okuri-eris-jime, and figure-four armlock is ude-garami.
4. In which year were male Judokas allowed in the Olympics?

Answer: 1964

Men could do Judo in the Olympics in 1964, and women could participate in 1992. Women should have been able to participate earlier.
5. Which of the following was a famous Judoka?

Answer: Shinzo Takagaki

Shinzo Takagaki also produced the book "The Techniques of Judo", with Harold E. Sharp. It was first printed in 1957. It has almost anything you'd want to know about Judo in it. It has 143 pages. Miyamoto Musashi was the most famous of Samurais, meaning he was a practitioner of Kendo.

He also wrote a book called, "A Book of Five Rings". He wrote it in 1645, a few weeks before he died. Jean Claude Van-Damme is in Kung-Fu and Karate. He is in a few movies, such as Bloodsport. Good fight scenes, but poor acting. Bruce Lee has studied all sorts of martial arts such as Aikido, Kung-Fu, and Judo.

He even has created his own art, called Jeet-Kune-Do, meaning "Way of the Intercepting Fist". Chuck Norris practiced this art while Bruce Lee was alive and still practices. Bruce Lee had a movie based on his life, called "Enter the Dragon".
6. What is a yoko-ukemi?

Answer: side-breakfall

A shout is called a kiai. A back-breakfall is called ma-ukemi. I forget what a front-breakfall is called.

Answer: propping-lifting foot sweep

8. What is a half-point in Judo called?

Answer: wazari

Only one point is needed to win a match. If a tie happens, the 3 judges decide who the winner is.
9. What is declared at the end of a match, for the judges to pronounce the winner?

Answer: soremade

Matai is to stop a fight while it in going on. Hajime is start. "Kiai" is a shout that you let out when you hit the ground. You don't have to say kiai, you can say "ha", or "ah" or moo. Whatever you would like to say.
