Throughout the 1980s, darts had enjoyed a lot of television coverage and was attracting sponsors. Many players blamed the British Darts Organisation for not attracting sponsors and also for failing to get more than one event a year televised.

Several players decided to form the the World Darts Council (WDC) in 1992 to try and bring more interest to the sport. This organisation eventually became the PDC and began attracting massive TV audiences and sponsors alike.
5. How many years consecutively did Taylor win the world championship starting from the 1995 edition?
