Answer: Johnny Podres

The others were all pitchers but died before 1955. Podres with his 9-10 season record, won game three and game seven. Newcombe was the Dodger star in 1955 with this 20-5 record.
2. In the four games to one World Series victory in 2006, the Cardinals produced the series MVP. Who was it?

Answer: David Eckstein

The others weren't Cardinals in 2006. After batting .292 in the season, Eckstein's bat came alive with a .364 average in the series.
