Answer: Belfast

In this penultimate leg of the race, the final four teams departed from their tenth Pit Stop on Niddry Street South (in Edinburgh, Scotland's Old Town), and were told to catch a ferry to their next country, Northern Ireland. To do this, teams needed to take a train from Edinburgh to Stranraer on the southwestern tip of the country and hop on a boat taking them across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland's capital. Once there, they had to proceed on foot to All-Route Shipping Limited where they would find the Ford Fiestas that they would be using for this leg of the race.

Answer: Jennifer

In Northern Ireland, teams were required to drive themselves to Peatlands Park in their Ford Fiesta vehicles. Upon arriving they found the Road Block task awaiting them. For this one, both team members had to take a ride on a small train and then the selected racer had to suit up in snorkel gear and go bog-snorkeling, literally jumping into the mud and swimming around. If the racers could complete the course in four minutes or less they would be able to get their next clue. Anthony, Katie, and Mona all finished on their first try while Jennifer took three attempts to finish.

Answer: Titanic

After completing the Road Block teams had to drive into Belfast to find the Beacon of Hope statue and it was there that they located their Detour task. For this one, the teams chose between 'Tray It' and 'Spray It'. In 'Tray It' they needed to go to the Titanic Dock and Pump House in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast and serve a five-course meal as would be served on the famous ocean liner.

This proved difficult for many teams as they needed to identify dishes, locate their menus, serve the courses to the right people, and transport everything down several flights of stairs to a tent in the dry dock proper. Max and Katie, Bates and Anthony, and Mona and Beth completed this task.

Answer: A skate park

Teams not opting to serve up some courses at the Titanic dry dock ended up traveling to the T13 Skatepark in Belfast where they had to obtain a photograph of half a piece of graffiti art. They then had to replicate it with spray paint, completing a local artist's work to receive their clue. Only when it was done to the approval of the artist would they be able to continue on. Only Caroline and Jennifer ended up completing this Detour option before heading to the Pit Stop.

Answer: Caroline and Jennifer

After the Detour task, teams were told to drive and then race into the final Pit Stop of the race, Ulster Hall in Belfast. Once inside they would be greeted by Phil and a group of Celtic dancers. Max and Katie narrowly outraced Bates and Anthony to another first place win (their third in a row) and ended up receiving a trip to the Dominican Republic courtesy of Travelocity.

The two teams were followed by Mona and Beth who rounded out the finalists heading to the last city. Caroline and Jennifer were unable to regain their footing after the Road Block and became the final eliminated team.

Answer: London

Leaving Ulster Hall early in the morning in Leg 12, the final three teams were told to head to the Port of Belfast and take a ferry across the Irish Sea to Liverpool, England. After a long train ride across to London, they ended up needing to get a pint of beer at Euston Tap before they could receive the name of their final destination city.

After this, all three of the final teams ended up taking the same flight back to the United States for the final leg.

Answer: Washington D.C.

After having a drink in London, the teams flew to the capital city of the United States, Washington D.C. Upon arriving, they needed to locate the famous steps where Martin Luther King Jr. had his famous "I have a dream" speech in front of Lincoln Memorial, at which point they would receive their next clue. All three teams were then told to take taxis to 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue where they would be allowed to take a photo with Barack Obama. To their disappointment, when they arrived at the Old Post Office there, they ended up posing for a doctored souvenir photo with the President.

Answer: Yes

After taking a photo with 'the president', the three teams had to go to the Tidal Basin and knock on the window of a marked vehicle to receive their next clue-- a briefcase containing their final Road Block. This task, a Switchback involving a Road Block in "The Amazing Race 8 (Family Edition)" required that one member of each team use a code phrase to locate a 'secret agent' with their respective briefcase.

They then needed to solve a puzzle involving their Pit Stop arrival numbers to get the combination to their briefcase. Max, Bates, and Beth finished this task.

Answer: Baseball stadium

After the Road Block, teams needed to take taxis to 'the home of the Nats', Nationals Park in Washington D.C., where one member had to dress up as a baseball mascot and catch a ball dropped from above by a teammate, ziplining over the field. When this was caught the ball would read the location of their next clue, Hains Point.

This would be home to their final major task of the race. Here, one team member needed to jump into a large ball pit filled with globes, then recall the shapes of each country they visited on the race and place them in order to gain access to their final clue.

Answer: Bates and Anthony

After finishing with their final task at Haims Point, teams were told to make their way to the finish line at the home of George Washington, Mount Vernon. There, the first team to arrive would end up winning the million dollar prize. In the end it was hockey brothers Anthony and Bates who stepped onto the finishing mat in first place to take home the million, becoming the twenty-second team to win the race; they ended up beating Max and Katie who placed second and Mona and Beth who placed third.
