Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Dead Eye's first four levels simply cause the user to deal more flat damage with Rifles. The final Dead Eye rank is a little more interesting, and rewards speed alongside precision. What does the fifth and final level of Dead Eye do?

Answer: Reward successive Rifle kills

On killing a Zombie with a Rifle, the player gains a Dead Eye stack. The very first stack gained increases all Rifle damage by 30%. The player can gain a maximum of two more stacks, which improve Rifle damage by 10% each, to a total of 50% at its peak. Stacks last for six seconds apiece if the player stops recording Rifle kills.
2. The Demolitions Expert perk lets the player find more explosives in loot, amongst many things. Which of the following is one thing that counts as an explosive?

Answer: Molotov Cocktail

A Molotov Cocktail is not a literal explosive in the strictest sense, but Fun Pimps likely roped it in with actual explosives since it plays basically the same role and doesn't fit in any other category cleanly anyway.

By levelling up Demolitions Expert, the player can start finding more items which count as explosives in their loot, such as the Molotov Cocktail.

Funnily enough, Land Mines and Hub Mines, despite literally exploding on contact, do not count as Explosives in this game. They are listed as 'Traps' which, to be fair, is an accurate label for a Land Mine. Levelling Demolitions Expert will, unfortunately, not let the player find Mines more easily.
3. Spear Master is pretty straightforward; if you want to do more damage with Spears, level this perk up. Raw damage output isn't the only thing Spear Master offers, however. This has utility even in Player-vs-Player fights. Which of the following can a Spear Master-buffed Spear do?

Answer: Slow enemies down

On maxing out Spear Master, power attacks with a Spear will now slow victims down by 30% for 5 seconds. This is both Zombies and enemy players, and the value remains consistent towards each. Additionally, killing blows will largely replenish stamina, letting the player deal with crowds of Zombies much more easily.
4. Quick and Perceptive is a simple beast, doing nothing but speeding up the player's attack speed with what?

Answer: Spears

Unfortunately, the values on this perk are fairly pitiful and make it questionable to invest in. Each level up improves attack speed by a mere 5%, which is barely noticeable until the perk itself is fully maxed out and yields a 25% boost in return for those five level ups.
5. If planning to enter the Dishong Tower, or attack an enemy player who has rigged their base full of traps, The Infiltrator would be ideal. Which of the following does The Infiltrator reduce damage taken from?

Answer: Mines

Bizarrely, Demolitions Expert does not treat Mines as if they are explosives, while The Infiltrator hyperfixates on Mines, and Mines only, reducing the player's damage taken from them. It also delays the detonation of a mind on being triggered. Without this perk, Mines will detonate virtually immediately as the player steps on them. On maxing this perk, Mines will now wait five whole seconds before exploding, giving the player more than enough time to quickly reposition before getting blown up. Various level ups of The Infiltrator will even allow players to pick up a Mine if it hasn't detonated already.
6. Animal Tracker's purpose is very easy to deduce; it lets the player track animals! Can this perk track every single animal in the entire game?

Answer: No

Vultures are not included within this perk, likely because they fly and, as such, do not leave "tracks" to be detected. This means that this perk is sadly useless if the player wants to stockpile Feathers, as Vultures are by far the best source of this item in the entire game.

Interestingly, in older iterations of "7 Days to Die", this perk did not allow the user to track Dire Wolves. This was eventually changed, and the perk now works with these vicious beasts. That said, Dire Wolves do not produce Raw Meat on death, so the player shouldn't hunt them if sustenance is the goal.
7. The Penetrator is a perk meant to help players tackle the late game. What exactly does this perk 'penetrate'?

Answer: Zombie Armor

The player will have almost definitely encountered Zombies with at least some armor prior to leveling this perk. The armor does not have to be visual; Irradiated Zombies can be wearing rags for clothes, but their health bars have armor simply because Irradiated Zombies are meant to be stronger enemies than normal ones.

This perk lets the player's bullets ignore armor, thus do more damage, and their bullets can now pierce several zombies and travel further.

Notably, this perk works with all firearms, not just Rifles. As such, it is pretty common for players of all builds to eventually come to this perk and invest in it, even if not interested in anything else Perception has to offer. It's value only grows the deeper into the game the player gets and the higher armor Zombies have.

Sadly, it does absolutely nothing to Dire Wolves. Dire Wolves have no armor, they're just built like tanks and have massive health bars. There will be no damage difference specifically interacting with Dire Wolves by choosing this perk.
8. Treasure Hunter makes the act of digging for treasure more rewarding. By maxing it out, which of the following can this perk potentially add to a treasure chest?

Answer: An M60

At the max level, Treasure Hunter now freely and reliably adds either an extra weapon, armor or cash to every chest the player digs up. That extra weapon could, in theory, become an M60. It cannot be a Taza's Stone Axe, however, as that item is exclusive to a chest found in a cave that has its own loot logic independent entirely of this perk.
9. Salvage Operations lets Salvage Tools do more damage and gain more materials when used. It also lets the player find a litany of tools more commonly. Which of the following can be looted easier with this perk?

Answer: Impact Driver

All of these items count as Salvage Tools, however, the Wrench, Ratchet and Impact Driver will have their loot rates impacted. The reason for this is likely that crafting Iron and Steel tools such as Shovels and Pickaxes is easy for players to do, so Fun Pimps may have felt it wasteful to also make them easier to loot.
10. The Perception Mastery tree features a number of benefits for players who went the extra mile and invested heavily into Perception. What is one niche benefit granted through this tree?

Answer: Harvest money from cushions and shopping carts

On attacking an object with a cushion or a shopping cart using a Salvage Tool, the player had a very high chance to receive a very small quantity of Duke's Casino Tokens or Old Cash. This is a pretty great perk, as the money earned from it starts to seriously build up before very long.
