Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the first Queen song that appeared on an album sung by Brian May?

Answer: Some Day One Day

"Some Day One Day" was released on the album "Queen II", released in 1974. "She Makes Me" is from the album "Sheer Heart Attack" later that same year, and "'39" and "Good Company" were from "A Night at the Opera" (1975). All of these songs were sung by Brian.
2. Which was the only song on Queen's debut album "Queen" that was taken from the original De Lane Lea demos in December 1971?

Answer: The Night Comes Down

"Keep Yourself Alive", "The Night Comes Down", "Liar", "Jesus" and "Great King Rat" were first recorded at the De Lane Lea Studios in December 1971. All these songs were recorded again for Queen's debut album, but the bend felt that this studio version of "The Night Comes Down" wasn't as good as the original, so the De Lane Lea version appeared on the album.
3. Which of these songs was Queens first non-album B-side?

Answer: See What a Fool I've Been

"See What a Fool I've Been" was released as the B-side to Queen's first hit single "Seven Seas of Rhye" in 1974. "A Human Body" was the B-side to "Play the Game" in 1980, "Hijack My Heart" was the B-side to "The Invisible Man" in 1989 and "Soul Brother" was the B-side to "Under Pressure" in 1981.

Answer: Brighton Rock

"Brighton Rock" was the first track on Queens third album "Sheer Heart Attack", which was released in 1974 and resulted in the international breakthrough for the band. The song is famously known for Brian Mays guitar solo in the middle, which in live shows, could last between 8 and 15 minutes.
5. Which song on Queens 1978 album "Jazz" contains samples of other songs from the album?

Answer: More of That Jazz

"More of That Jazz" contains samples other songs from the album, including "Mustapha", "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Bicycle Race". Note: "Let Me Entertain You" is NOT the song sung by Robbie Williams; it is an original Queen song written by Freddie Mercury.
6. Which of these Queen songs do NOT have lyrics in another language than English?

9. Who co-wrote the song on Queens eponymous debut album "Doin' All Right" together with Brian May?

Answer: Tim Staffell

Tim Staffell was a member of the pre-Queen group Smile. This band contained him on vocals and bass guitar. Brian May played the guitar and Roger Taylor did drums. Freddie Mercury was introduced with the group as one of Tims best friends. When Tim left the band to sing with another band named Humpy Bong, Freddie took over his role as lead singer.
10. What was the name of a Freddie Mercury solo song which appeared as the title song on Queens last album, released in 1995?

Answer: Made in Heaven

"Made in Heaven" and "I Was Born to Love You" appeared on Freddies 1985 solo album "Mr. Bad Guy". "Too Much Love Will Kill You" was firstly recorded to appear on their 1989 album "The Miracle", but was rejected. The song became a hit when Brian May recorded and released it in 1992.
