Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The song "Starstruck" tells a story of a female fan of whom?

Answer: Ritchie Blackmore

It's the third song on the album. It tells a story of a crazy fan of Ritchie Blackmore. Ronnie wrote the lyrics based on a true story about her:

In the liner notes to the 2003 compilation "Stand Up And And Shout: The Anthology", Ronnie James Dio had this to say: "A true story about a female fan who would follow Ritchie around everywhere. She was a French girl name Muriel who would turn up in Ritchie's bushes around his house. She was annoying to Ritchie, an obsessed fan, and the first one I'd ever experienced. So I wrote the song from real-life perspective. The last time we saw her was at a show in Paris-she was pressed right up front, and Ritchie smashed his guitar and the neck flew across the stage and smacked her right between the eyes. She went down like a ton of bricks. Hope she wasn't hurt too badly."
2. Which thing is NOT on the front cover of the album?

Answer: Birds in the sky

The album was released in 1976. The album cover was designed and painted by Ken Kelly. The whole cover art is about a giant hand, holding a rainbow. The castle is on the right and that castle might be the same as the one on their debut album. The mysterious man is standing at the bottom of the cover art.
3. Which song has the line "I don't wanna go, something tells me no, no, no, no"?

Answer: Tarot Woman

"Tarot Woman" is the opening track of the album. It tells a story of a man who wanted to find out his fate, by visiting a tarot woman. He gets frightened by knowing his fate, because the woman warns him of a future relationship. It features a nearly one minute keyboard intro by Tony Carey.
4. "Stargazer" tells half of a cool story. Which song finishes that story?

Answer: A Light in the Black

"Stargazer" tells an amazing story of a crazy wizard, who is obsessed with the stars, so he enslaves some people and he makes them to build him a tall tower, to reach the stars. But he falls and dies, so the slaves don't know what they are going to do with their lives. And "A Light in the Black" tells that.
5. What orchestra does the song "Stargazer" feature?

Answer: Munich Philharmonic Orchestra

As the album was recorded in Munich, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra played on it, who were hired by Ritchie Blackmore. "Stargazer" is the fifth song on the album and it tells a cool story of a wizard who is obsessed with the stars. It was originally written for cello, because that was Ritchie Blackmore's instrument before guitar.
6. Which lyrics are NOT on this album?

Answer: He'll rule no more, strike him dead, the people roar

"That a sound just like the wind, only makes the change begin" is from the song "Run with the Wolf", which is the second track on the album.

"Hot wind moving fast across the desert, we feel that our time has arrived" are the first two lines of the second verse of "Stargazer".

"Always looking down, lost and never found" is in the album closer, "A Light in the Black". It's the continuation of "Stargazer".

"He'll rule no more, strike him dead, the people roar" is from the song "Kill the King", which is off their third and last album with Dio on vocals, "Long Live Rock and Roll".
7. How many members were credited as their stage names?

Answer: 2

The two members who used their stage names were Cozy Powell and Ronnie James Dio.

Cozy Powell was the drummer of the band. His real name was Colin Trevor Fooks. He played in numerous bands like Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brian May and many others.

8. The lineup of the album consisted of...

Answer: 1 guitarist, 1 bassist, 1 singer, 1 drummer, 1 keyboardist

Rithcie Blackmore on the guitar, Jimmy Bain on the bass, Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Cozy Powell on the drums and Tony Carey on the keyboard. The previous album had a completely different lineup; after the recording of that album Blackmore kicked out everybody except Dio.
9. Fill the gap "___ has said I'll know in the end, the things that make you smile"

Answer: The logical trend
