Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the "red in me" a sign for in "Blueside"?

Answer: the end

"The colors have built up in my mind- they're bleeding through my heart- and nobody knows that they exist- look at my bursted veins- now do you see the red in me- it's a sign for the end." This is Rooney's first single, which has been quiting a bit of play on MTV recently.
2. Stay Away-- "See me down and so you get down-- No you've got me all wrong-- I just want to kiss your lips-- And ... "

Answer: you kiss back

My very favorite line of the song! This is track #2 on the album, which is Rooney's debut album, released on May 21, 2003.
3. When the charts are done in "If It Were Up to Me", they reveal that the couple "works as one" like which two groups?

Answer: the Jackson 5 and the Temptations

"I want you to know-- I've done our charts and it says-- That we work as one-- Like the Jackson 5 and the Temp-ta-tions-- If it were up to me-- She would know that our love-- (our love)-- Is the best love-- (best love)-- If it were up to me" A lot of people think that song sounds a lot like it could be a Weezer song, a group that Rooney is often compared to.
4. In the end of "I'm a Terrible Person", did our singer believe that what he had done to the girl he was dating was wrong?

Answer: No

"Well, I don't think I'll ever be sorry-- No I'm not sorry for a thing I've done-- And I don't think I'll ever be lonely-- Cause having her around wasn't all that special" One review I read of this album had a lot of praise for the types of songs Rooney does.

The critic praised the group for their lack of whining about love in their lyrics. Most of the songs are very unapologetic and this song is a prime example of that.
5. Which two pop groups/singers are referenced in "Popstars"?

Answer: Britney Spears and N*SYNC

Britney is hinted at in the first line- "Hey baby, you've hit me again one more time." N*SYNC is hinted at a couple times- "You said bye, bye, buh-bye, bye, good-bye-" "Hey Digital"-- you're nothing but a [expletive deleted] on strings."
6. What movie was the singer watching all day in "I'm Shakin'"?

Answer: The Neverending Story

"I tossed and turned all night-- 'cause I was looking for an ending-
This was so because I watched all day- The neverending story with atrayu" This song also talks a lot about the singer waking up covered in "spit and sweat", which I've got to say, is a little gross! :)
7. What was the singer sorry for in "Daisy Duke"?

Answer: "Cuffing you to my bathtub"

"I'm much too rough with-- the way that I face this-- I'm sorry for cuffing-- you to my bathtub"
This song is a little on the sadomasochistic side.
8. Why did the singer apoloqize to the girl he met at the bar the second he walked up to her in "Sorry Sorry"?

Answer: he saw the future

"The bartender knew her number and name-- I grabbed my cell phone and give her a ring-- Wrong Number!-- I guess I gotta do it the hard way.
I walked up to her having seen the future and said-- 'I'm sorry sorry for making your life a living hell.'"

Rooney met while they were in high school. The original name of their group was Ed Rooney, after the principal in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," but they later shortened the name to just Rooney.
9. How long did the singer date the girl who is the subject of "That Girl Has Love"?

Answer: From September till December

This is my very favorite song on the album! It's very sad. "I-- I didn't have a clue then-- That a kiss-- Would change my whole life again-- She walked into my room-- When I was all alone-- She told me I would date her from-- September till December."
10. In "Simply Because", the singer is not partying, he's parting from what?

Answer: the noncreative

"I'm doing things-- Like I said before-- I'm not partying--I'm parting from the non-creative-- Yeah!"
In June 2003, Rooney finished their first headlining tour all over the United States and in some areas of Europe.
11. In "Losing Control", what have the couple lost all hope of?

Answer: coming back

This song was originally titled "The Mellow Song." "Once again-- We've gone off track-- And lost all hope-- for coming back."
12. What age will the girl in "That Girl Has Love" always be?

Answer: 17

This song was originally titled "Kristen", and it was written, along with the other songs on the album, by lead singer Robert Carmine. Carmine is a member of the famous Coppola family, which includes "Godfather" trilogy director Francis Ford Coppola (uncle), actress Talia Shire (mother), producer Jack Schwartzman (father), Actor Nicholas Cage (cousin), actress/director Sophia Coppola (cousin), driector Spike Jonze (cousin) and actor/drummer for Phantom Planet Jason Schwartzman (brother).
13. In which song does the singer tell someone that they will be "back milking cows before [they] cash the check"?

Answer: Popstars

The "killers of rock and roll" will get their due, according to this song, which is so biting, it even made my mom laugh and my mom doesn't laugh at much! :)
14. In "I'm a Terrible Person", the singer read his girlfriend's diary and told all of the secrets to all of her friends.

Answer: False

He did read her diary, but he actually told all of the secrets to all the guys in town, who all "laughed and slapped [him] five."
15. In "Daisy Duke", something concerns the singer about this girl, but he's willing to keep it a secret. What is his concern?

Answer: She's really young

This song cracks me up. I definitely recommend it.
