Tris Speaker averaged higher than .350 nine times and averaged higher than .380 five times but only managed one batting title thanks to the legendary presence of Ty Cobb.

Todd Hundley belted 41 home runs in 1996 with the Mets, a record for catchers in a season. In 1970, Johnny Bench hit 45 home runs, but he did not play catcher the majority of the year.
