Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On which show, one that Stan, Kyle, and Cartman are watching, do Terrance and Phillip appear to discuss their controversial movie?

Answer: The Conan O'Brien Show

Immediately after Shelley left, the children turn on the TV and watch "The Conan O'Brien Show". This appears to be a fictionalized version of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", a show hosted by the red-headed comedian which aired between 1993 and 2009 on NBC. Terrance and Phillip joined Conan and Brooke Shields among boos from the audience to talk about their popular yet controversial film.

When confronted with the proposition that their humor is "nothing but immature fart jokes", the Canadians responded by farting.

Then, Mothers Against Canada stormed the stage with military officials and, through Sheila's leadership, placed Terrance and Phillip under citizen's arrest. Regretting his participation in the ruse, Conan throws himself out the window and falls on a car.
2. At a United Nations meeting, why does the Canadian ambassador say that the arrest of Terrance and Phillip by the American government was an outrage?

Answer: The entire economy of Canada relies on Terrance and Phillip

After Mothers Against Canada orchestrated the arrest of Terrance and Phillip, the Canadian ambassador gives a speech to the United Nations where he condemns the actions taken by the American government. He then explains that "the entire economy of Canada relies on Terrance and Phillip", and he shows a graph that supports that statement.

Other categories in the graph included "snow ball machine", "log industry", "X-Files filming", "tourist industry", and "Dion Fish industry". The American ambassador's response is to curse at his Canadian counterpart and say that Terrance and Phillip will be "put on trial for corrupting America's youth".

The diplomats then laugh at how the Canadian ambassador is pronouncing "about".
3. The Canadian Air Force retaliates against Terrance and Phillip's arrest by bombing the United States. The Hollywood home of brothers Billy, Daniel, and Alec is the first to be bombed, but what last name do those three brothers share?

Answer: Baldwin

After the Canadian delegation is ridiculed at the United Nations, we see Canadian air force jets being scrambled as they prepare to bomb the U.S. We briefly see Billy Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin, and Alec Baldwin relaxing by their pool right before bombs are dropped on them. Stephen Baldwin, who is also one of the Baldwin brothers, is not mentioned by name but was likely the one who is inside the house when the bombing occurred. Later, a U.S. Army recruitment advertisement reveals that the Canadians had also bombed the Arquette family.

The ad also invites people to witness the execution of Terrance and Phillip, which will be held in a U.S.O. show featuring Big Gay Al and Winona Ryder.
4. Which of these U.S. presidents addresses the nation and announces that the country has declared war on Canada following the bombings?

Answer: Bill Clinton

The movie was released in 1999 when President Bill Clinton was still in office. Clinton, of the Democratic Party, was the President of the United States between 1993 and 2001, and was succeeded by Republican George W. Bush. Clinton's Vice-President, Al Gore, was mocked on several occasions by the "South Park" creators. In "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut", Clinton announces that the U.S. has declared war on Canada after the bombing of the Baldwins, which he refers to as "a day which will live in infamy".

All the children and faculty are called to the school gymnasium to listen to the president's announcement, and are shocked to hear President Clinton say that Terrance and Phillip are war criminals and will be executed. As a final twist, Clinton says that he appointed Sheila Broflovski as his "Secretary of Offense".
5. Which notorious Middle Eastern ruler is introduced by Satan as his "new partner in evil"?

Answer: Saddam Hussein

Kenny is terrified of hell and tries to escape, but is unsuccessful. Satan then introduces Kenny to his "new partner in evil", none other than Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. Hussein is depicted as a cartoon with his real head superimposed on the animation. Hussein appears to be sexually aroused by torturing others and also appears to be involved in a romantic relationship with the devil.

Saddam Hussein was the president of Iraq between 1979 and 2003. Hussein oversaw an authoritarian regime that was involved in numerous wars. An alliance led by the U.S. and the U.K. invaded Iraq to try and remove Saddam from power. Hussein was executed by hanging in 2006.
6. The children of South Park decide to sing a song asking themselves what Brian Boitano would do in their shoes. Which of these is the only action NOT directly referenced in the song?

Answer: Stopping political correctness

Cartman continues to insult Sheila and tells Kyle that he should rebel against his mother. Meanwhile, Stan and Cartman try to come up with a solution by imagining what Brian Boitano would do in this situation. Brian Boitano was one of America's most accomplished representatives in figure skating, with his gold medal win at the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games being one of his most important accomplishments. He also won gold, silver, and bronze medals at various World Figure Skating Championships. Though the exact reason why Boitano was referenced is unclear, the "South Park" creators have expressed their personal respect for Boitano, while Boitano has also said he was not bothered by the movie. In fact, Boitano's name has been mentioned at other times in "South Park" and in other works by Parker and Stone as well.

Sheila gathered the Mothers Against Canada members again to discuss a "v-chip" that is implanted under a child's skin and gives the child an electric shock every time he or she swears. Cartman is used as an example, and he gets shocked several times when he fails to stop swearing. Mothers Against Canada then decide to burn anything they own that is connected to Canada. While Clyde burns his Terrance and Phillip dolls, other people throw their Alanis Morissette albums into the fire. Cartman tells his friends how he dislikes the chip that prevents him from swearing, while Stan and Kyle try to reason (unsuccessfully) with their moms.

According to the children's song, not only would Boitano rescue Terrance and Phillip before their execution, but also come up with a plan and follow through. Stan, Kyle, and Cartman then come up with a musical masterpiece that motivates them to stand up to their mothers. The song, "What Would Brian Boitano Do?", goes through all the different heroic things Boitano has done, such as fighting grizzly bears with his fire breath, being an activist, and building the pyramids. Of course, Boitano's real Olympic accomplishments are also mentioned.
7. In whose bedroom does Kenny first appear as a poltergeist to try to warn about Satan's plans?

Answer: Cartman's

Cartman is tucked in by his mom and innocently asks when the war will be over. Liane says she doesn't know, but is heartened by the fact that Eric wants it to stop soon. While Cartman prepares to leave for the secret meeting, the ghost of Kenny shows up and scares him. Kenny tries to communicate something about Satan and Saddam Hussein, but Cartman doesn't understand and is left confused and scared.

Apparently, the execution of Terrance and Phillip is part of a wider prophecy, and upon the Canadians being killed, Satan would take control of the world.
8. When Satan sings "Up There", in which of the following scenarios does he imagine himself having a good time with several muscular men?

Answer: Gay cruise ship

Satan gets upset with Saddam Hussein because when Hussein first got to hell, they used to talk all night long. But now, Hussein is only interested in sex and shows no regard for the Devil's feelings. A saddened Satan then sings "Up There", a musical piece about how he dreams of living in the regular world and wants to stop feeling lonely in hell. Satan says that he would like to experience life outside of the underworld, and he then imagines himself on a vacation on the "S.S. Manhandler", a ship with several muscular men, a pool, and decorations with the colors of the LGBT flag.
9. What is the password that Stan comes up with when the children post a call to action for other children on the message boards?

Answer: La Resistance

Kyle circumvents the restrictions on Canadian servers to post a message telling all children to stand up to their parents. The children then post a message telling children to meet at Carl's Warehouse, where they would have punch and pie (even though they had no intentions of providing such refreshments). Kyle then adds that this is "top secret" and then Stan comes up with a poignant password: "La Resistance".
10. Which pair of children join Stan and Kyle's newly-founded movement at Carl's Warehouse, much to the surprise of Stan?

Answer: Wendy and Gregory

Stan, Kyle, and Cartman put together a political organization to save Terrance and Phillip from execution and fight Mothers Against Canada. They hold their first meeting at Carl's Warehouse, where they post a sign that reads "Viva la Resistance". Cartman tells his friends about seeing the ghost of Kenny, but they don't believe him. Then, a kid shows up and is allowed inside despite giving the wrong password.

It turns out that Gregory, the new student at school who Stan dislikes because of their mutual affection for Wendy, was the kid outside. Even though Stan is upset to see him, Gregory comes inside with Wendy. Wendy is somewhat surprised that it was Stan who was behind this new political group. Gregory takes over the meeting and outlines a plan to rescue Terrance and Phillip.
