Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The perks for Light Armor, Medium Armor and Heavy Armor all follow the exact same progression rate. How many skill points would it take to fully max out one of these perks?

Answer: Eight

It costs one point just to acquire the level 1 version of these perks. Two skill points apiece are needed to go to level 2 and then 3. Finally, three points would be needed to finish the job and max the perk out.
2. Light Armor (perk) has one exclusive benefit unavailable to Medium or Heavy Armor. What is it?

Answer: It increases Armor Rating

Each level into Light Armor will increase the Armor Rating of literally any light armor the player is wearing by one point per level up; a +2 Armor Rating at Light Armor level 2, +3 at the level 3 version and so on.

Note that the perk does not care if the player has a perfect set or not, nor does it care if the player is wearing a mix of light, medium and/or heavy Armors. It only cares if the player is wearing any light armor at all, then applies the Armor Rating buff.
3. The Medium and Heavy Armor perks grant the user a benefit not seen for the Light Armor perk. What is it?

Answer: Increased movement speed

By default, both medium and especially heavy armor impose a movement speed and stamina regeneration penalty onto the player. Investing in their respective perks mitigates penalty. Even maxing the perks out will not completely remove the penalty (or else, what would the point of light armor be?) but it will make the penalties much less noticeable.
4. Master Chef is a perk intended to make cooking food easier and more profitable/manageable for the player. What is one benefit given from this perk?

Answer: Use less ingredients to make dishes

The reduction of 40% to ingredient consumption, once max Master Chef is achieved, is incredibly useful. Moreover, this perk also increases the speed at which dishes can be cooked at.
5. At level 2 specifically, Master Chef opts to help the player out in the field as well. With level 2 Master Chef, searching which of the following has a chance to suddenly yield food?

Answer: Dumpsters

Level 2's Master Chef perk name is literally "Dumpster Diver", removing any ambiguity. On searching a dumpster, there is a 10% chance for a food item to appear that otherwise wouldn't have been. This is generally a quality food item too, such as Meat Stew or Fish Tacos.
6. Living off the Land is focused on maximizing efficiency with crops. What does it do?

Answer: Increases crop yield

When attacking a plant, it normally yields one unit of whatever material it was budding into. Attacking a Goldenrod Flower will yield one single Goldenrod Flower. Living off the Land doubles and then eventually triples this, giving two or three of the plant in question.

This is useful even if the player does not necessarily want to have the largest green thumb. It works on all manner of plants and crops. If traveling through a forest scattered with Goldenrod Flowers and Chrysanthemums, this perk works on them.
7. Lock Picking is a three tier perk. How many skill points does it cost to max?

Answer: Six

The first level costs one, the second costs two and the final level costs three skill points to reach.

This perk, more than any others, has seen a ton of changes. It began as a perk under the Intellect tree, before it was then moved by the game developers to be under Perception. However, this caused an imbalance, prompting Fun Pimps to create the entire General tree itself in the first place.
8. What is one benefit granted from Lock Picking (perk)?

Answer: Find more lockpicks in loot

Lockpicks cannot be wielded as a weapon, nor do they have any ranking assigned to them dictating their strength like weapons and other tools. When looting a lockpick, they normally come solo. Through this perk, up to two additional lockpicks can be looted when finding lockpicks.
9. Lucky Looter underwent a fairly catastrophic fall from grace. This perk allows the player to find loot, but what kind?

Answer: A single type of book

The Lucky Looter book, taking the same name as the perk, is found more often when investing in this perk. There are two problems with this. One, there are only seven unique iterations of the Lucky Looter book and, once the player has found them all, this aspect of the perk itself becomes completely useless.

The second problem is that, once upon a time, Lucky Looter once allowed the player to find **all** books more easily, and it now only works on one highly specific, niche book instead.
10. Throughout the five levels of Lucky Looter, it increases loot quality by how much at the end?

Answer: 25%

This is where Lucky Looter really took a tragic fall from grace. This 25% was once a much, much mightier 250%, and the perk was quite useful as a result. The perk would likely have fallen off in this game come the 2020s anyway, but mechanics implemented into the game in 2026 served only to hasten this demise. Lucky Looter is sadly just about totally redundant due to changes made to the Gamer Stage mechanic. The impact of this perk can be largely replaced by simply entering a higher difficulty biome to manipulate one's Gamer Stage. Even with Lucky Looter, the Pine Forest is insufficient for looting quality items, and since moving to another biome already renders the perk redundant, there's little point to investing in it.

It's a shame, as this perk was once the undisputed GOAT of the entire game - a necessity you would be incredibly foolish to go without.
