Martin and Gary Kemp were born on 10th October, 1961, in London. Both of them attended Anna Scher Children's Theatre when they were seven years old and started acting on television in their teens. Gary Kemp formed the group, The Gentry, which was later changed to Spandau Ballet. Martin joined the group to become lead bassist.

They both received critical acclaim for their role in 'The Krays'.

Nina, played by Juliet Stevenson, was devastated when Jamie died. When she was on the verge of giving up, Jamie came back as a ghost. Jamie then left, and Nina was able to move on with her life.

The story told of the upper class Wilcoxes, the half German Schlegel's and the struggling Bast family. Margaret and Helen Schlegel, played by Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham-Carter, tried to make the Wilcoxes less prejudiced and offered help to the poorer Bast's. Margaret befriended Ruth Wilcox and when Ruth died, she bequested the family home, 'Howards End', to Margaret. Margaret eventually married Henry Wilcox, but the remaining family tried to stop her from taking possession of the house.

C. S. Lewis was an academic at Oxford University when he met American poet, Joy Gresham (Debra Winger). He had already written 'The Chronicles of Narnia' series of books and was living a quiet and reserved life with his brother, Warnie. Gresham was outspoken, plucky and full of spirit, which was a sharp contrast to life in the male dominated university. Feelings between Lewis and Gresham developed into a love. What started as a marriage of convenience between the two of them turned into something much deeper, especially when Gresham was diagnosed with cancer.

A group of friends, including Charles, attended a wedding and it was there that he met Carrie (Andie MacDowell) for the first time, and had a one night stand with her. Charles attended a second wedding and met Carrie's fiancé, Sir Hamish Banks. Charles was seated next to a group of ex-girlfriends including Henrietta, who his friends called 'Duckface'. Charles later bumped into Carrie and they slept together again. Charles attended the third wedding in Scotland where Hamish and Carrie were married.

Henrietta punched Charles after she found out that he did not love her and the wedding was cancelled. They all went back to Scotland to attend a funeral of another friend who had died of toxoplasmosis. It was there that the friends made a deal and sold two kilos of heroin to a drug dealer for £16,000.

The friends celebrated, but during that same night, Mark walked away from the group, taking all the money with him to start a new life.

The Queen's popularity with the public was waning and Brown persuaded her to return to public duties. This caused a rift between them which lasted for years. It was only when Brown became ill with pneumonia that the Queen visited his bedside, just before he passed away.

She became alive in her room when she listened to, and impersonated, the performances of great women singers. She befriended a quiet telephone engineer (Ewan McGregor) when he repaired her telephone. Another man (Michael Caine,) who became romantically attached to her mother, recognised the talent in Laura.

He presented her at his seedy nightclub. After overcoming her shyness, Laura sang a succession of show stopping numbers.

He wanted all of his children to follow the Islamic tradition. Things started to go wrong when his eldest son, Nazir, fled his own wedding, only for everyone to find out later that he was gay. Tariq and Abdul rebelled when they discovered that their father was setting up an arranged marriage for them. George found that his family was breaking up and, after several fights with his wife, they reconciled themselves over a British cup of tea.
