Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "A woman goes to work every day after day She just goes to work just to earn her pay Child sitting crying by a life that's harder He doesn't even know who is his father"

Answer: "Wicked World" ("Black Sabbath")

"Wicked World" is the fifth song on Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album. The song talks about many issues on Earth.

The song is easily my favourite on this eponymous debut. It's one of the best songs Black Sabbath ever made.
2. "Red light, don't stop for no red light You know I'm always trouble on my own Lonely, ever so lonely I've got too much time"

Answer: "Danger Zone" ("Seventh Star")

"Danger Zone" is the sixth song on Black Sabbath's twelfth studio album, the 1986 "Seventh Star".

The album was supposed to be a Tony Iommi solo album, but the record company put the Black Sabbath name onto the album, to sell more copies. This was the only album to feature Glenn Hughes on vocals.
3. "Let the winter sun shine on Let me feel the frost of dawn Build my dreams on flakes of snow Soon I'll feel the chilling glow"

Answer: "Snowblind" ("Vol.4")

"Snowblind" is the sixth song on Black Sabbath's fourth studio album, the 1972 "Vol.4". The song is about cocaine and a man who is obsessed with it.

"Vol.4" is one of my favourite Sabbath albums and "Snowblind" is a stone cold classic.
4. "From the first evil night, when a black flash of light Cut the crucifix half to the ground There's been no escape from the power of Satan On a nation so brave and so proud"

Answer: "Headless Cross" ("Headless Cross")

"Headless Cross" is the title track of Black Sabbath's fourteenth studio album, which was released in 1989. This was the second studio album to feature Tony Martin on vocals.

The lyrics are about a Middle Ages myth. Some people in a small English village went to the hills to pray to God for help. None of them survived.
5. "Fire and water, wind and rain Wings that carry hell in every vein World possessions, endless tears Truth and knowledge stolen all their years"

Answer: "The Sabbath Stones" ("Tyr")

"The Sabbath Stones" is the fourth track on Black Sabbath's fifteenth studio album, the 1992 "Tyr".
6. "It's too late to turn You don't wanna learn Price of life is high Now, you're gonna die"

Answer: "Hand of Doom" ("Paranoid")

"Hand of Doom" is the sixth song on Black Sabbath's second and most famous album, the 1970 "Paranoid". The song is about the suffering of a heroin-addicted person. The song describes the addiction and at the end of the song, the person dies of an overdose.

"Paranoid" is a really great but very overrated album. Most people would highlight "War Pigs", "Paranoid" or "Iron Man", but for me "Hand of Doom" is the absolute best song on the album.
7. "Ooh, gather the wind, though the wind won't help you fly at all Your back's to the wall Chain the sun and it tears away To face you as you run, you run, you run"

Answer: "Die Young" ("Heaven and Hell")

"Die Young" is the sixth song on the ninth Black Sabbath album, the 1980 "Heaven and Hell". This was the first album to feature Ronnie James Dio instead of Ozzy Osbourne. The song talks about living life now, because you can't know when will you die.

"Heaven and Hell" is one of my favorite albums of all time and it's easily the best Dio-era-Sabbath album. "Die Young" and "Children of the Sea" are my two favorite songs on this album.
8. "Sitting in the back seat of a shiny limousine Living in a taxi can't remember where I've been Playing my music, sitting in my hotel room Writing about the stars and thinking about the hand of doom"

Answer: "Back Street Kids" ("Technical Ecstasy")

"Back Street Kids" is the album opener of Black Sabbath's seventh studio album, the 1976 "Technical Ecstasy". The song talks about being a metalhead and a musician.

"Technical Ecstasy" is a very underrated album. A lot of people say it's a bad album, but it has tons of great stuff on it. It's one of my favourite Sabbath albums, and "Back Street Kids" is among my favourite songs of all time.
9. "I beg you, please don't let it get any worse The anger I once had has turned to a curse on you Yeah, curse you All of the promises that never came true You're gonna get what is coming to you, that's true Ah, that's true"

Answer: "The Writ" ("Sabotage")

"The Writ" is the final song on Black Sabbath's sixth studio album, the 1976 "Sabotage". The song is an angry letter directed towards their record label and management who wanted them to change their music.

"Sabotage" is my absolute favourite Sabbath album, and it's also my favourite album of all time. "The Writ" is a really strange song, but it's in my top three songs of all time for sure.
10. "From the book, the word is spoken Whispers from forgotten psalms Gather all around the young ones They will make us strong"

Answer: "The Sign of the Southern Cross" ("Mob Rules")

"The Sign of the Southern Cross" is the third song on Black Sabbath's tenth studio album, the 1981 "Mob Rules". It's the second Sabbath album featuring Ronnie James Dio on vocals.

In the liner notes to the 2003 compilation "Stand Up And And Shout: The Anthology", Ronnie James Dio had this to say: "Mob Rules was a different experience because Bill Ward had left Sabbath. Vinnie Appice was the new drummer, and the chemistry in the studio changed. I was feeling like I could go as dark as I wanted lyrically now, mess around with alliteration-I love alliteration. I knew about the Southern Cross on the Australian flag, but this was meant to be something more darkly symbolic and religious."
11. "Tortured and twisted, he walks the streets alone People avoid him, they know the street's his home Cold blade of silver, his eyes, they burn so wild Mean as a tiger, society's own child"

Answer: "Johnny Blade" ("Never Say Die!")

"Johnny Blade" is the second song on Black Sabbath's eighth studio album, the 1978 "Never Say Die!". This was the last Black Sabbath album to feature Ozzy Osbourne on vocals for 35 years.

The song is about a knife-wielding maniac who lives in the streets. According to Geezer Butler, the song was inspired by Bill Ward's brother, who was in a violent gang as a teenager.

Lots of people say that "Never Say Die!" is a weak album. I also think that it's one of their weakest, but it also has some really good stuff on it. "Johnny Blade" is the absolute best track on the album and it's also one of my favorite Sabbath songs.
12. "So you think it's me who's strange But you've never had to make the change Never give your trust away You'll end up paying till your dying day"

Answer: "Killing Yourself to Live" ("Sabbath Bloody Sabbath")

"Killing Yourself to Live" is the fifth song on Black Sabbath's fifth studio album, the 1973 "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". The song is about how crazy the music industry is, and at some point, it also talks about how bad the world is.

"Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is my second favourite Sabbath album and "Killing Yourself to Live" is probably my favourite song of all time. The album has tons of other great stuff, it doesn't really have any bad songs on it.

Answer: "TV Crimes" ("Dehumanizer")

"TV Crimes" is the third song on Black Sabbath's sixteenth studio album, the 1992 "Dehumanizer". This was the third and the last album to feature Ronnie James Dio on vocals.

The song is a criticism of the rise of televangelism in America. Televangelism is the use of television to communicate Christianity.

"Dehumanizer" is a really great album, it has loads of good songs. My other favourite song is "Computer God". Both songs are one of my favourites of all time.
14. "As the page is turned and the story's told From the visions he had seen The house on the hill with the haunting eyes that call No one left when madness came out To play its game If you stay too long, you'll finally go insane"

Answer: "The Shining" ("The Eternal Idol")

The song is based on the Stephen King novel with the same title.
15. "When I first met you, didn't realize I can't forget you or your surprise You introduced me to my mind And left me wanting you and your kind"

Answer: "Sweet Leaf" ("Master of Reality")
