Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of Black Sabbath's second studio album?

Answer: Paranoid

"Paranoid" was released in 1970. It's their most successful album.

The album's lineup consisted of Bill Ward on drums, Geezer Butler on the bass, Tony Iommi on guitar, and Ozzy Osbourne on vocals.

The original title of the album was "War Pigs", but the record company changed it in the last minute.

"Master of Reality" is Black Sabbath's third studio album and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is the fifth.
2. Who sang on the "Heaven and Hell" album?

Answer: Ronnie James Dio

Ronnie James Dio joined the band in 1979, to replace Ozzy Osbourne. He sang on three Black Sabbath albums, the 1980 "Heaven and Hell", the 1981 "Mob Rules" and the 1992 "Dehumanizer". He also did vocals for the bands like Rainbow, Elf, and his own band, Dio. He passed away in 2010 of stomach cancer.
3. Which song features the lyrics: "Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear"?

Answer: Children of the Grave

"Children of the Grave" is the fourth song on Sabbath's third studio album, "Master of Reality". It's one of the band's most well-known songs. The lyrics were written by Geezer Butler, the bassist of the band. The song talks about the threat of war, the youth needs to stand against corrupt politicians.
4. Name the original lineup!

Answer: Ward/Osbourne/Iommi/Butler

The band was formed by Bill Ward drummer, Ozzy Osbourne vocalist, guitarist Tony Iommi, and bassist Geezer Butler. It changed many times. This lineup was featured on the first eight Black Sabbath albums.

Later, Osbourne, Ward, and Butler left the band (and returned) too, except Iommi, (the leader of the band) who stayed with the band the whole time.
5. Which song is NOT on the "Vol.4" album?

Answer: Into the Void

"Into the Void" is the closing track on Black Sabbath's third album, "Master of Reality". The song talks about some people, who travel to another planet from the destroyed Earth. Amazing song.
6. Which song talks about Lucifer who fell in love with someone?

Answer: N.I.B.

"N.I.B." is the fourth track on Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album. The lyrics were written by Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osbourne and it tells the story of Lucifer who falls in love with a woman on Earth. However, the title has nothing to do with the lyrics, it was inspired by the nickname of Bill Ward, "pen nib".

The song also contains a cool bass solo at the beginning called "Bassically".
7. Which song is NOT sung by Ozzy Osbourne?

Answer: Children of the Sea

"Children of the Sea" is the second song on Black Sabbath's ninth studio album, "Heaven and Hell". It's the first album that features Ronnie James Dio on vocals instead of Ozzy.

The song was the first song that Dio wrote with the band and it talks about ecological awareness.
8. Tony Iommi is known for what?

Answer: He lost two of his fingertips

Tony Iommi was the guitarist of Black Sabbath. He is the only member who played on all of their studio albums.

He lost the tips of his middle and ring fingers of his right hand in a factory accident when he was 17 years old. He replaced his lost fingertips with homemade plastic tips, so he could continue playing the guitar.
9. Which lyrics is featured in the song "Black Sabbath"?

Answer: Big black shape with eyes of fire

"Misty morning, clouds in the sky" is the first line of the song "The Wizard". It's the second song on Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album.

"Day of judgement, God is calling" is from the album opener of "Paranoid", "War Pigs".

"I'll chase my soul in the fires of hell" is from the amazing song, "Megalomania". It's the fourth song on my favorite Black Sabbath album, "Sabotage".
10. Contiue the lyrics: "Take my hand, my child of love, come step inside my tears"

Answer: Swim the magic ocean I've been crying all these years

This line is from the song "Symptom of the Universe". It the third track on Sabbath's sixth studio album, "Sabotage". The lyrics are about a dream that Geezer Butler once had.
