Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Redemption for a penny a soul"

Answer: "Help Myself"

"Help Myself" is found on the "Scream 2" soundtrack. Originally DMB was going to give a reworked version of "Halloween", but after seeing the mediocrity of the soundtrack decided to give "Help Myself" instead.
2. "One day has a good king, one day has a bad king, All the same in time...Be your own king"

Answer: "Mother's Night"

"Mother's Night" has never been known to have been played live; it is only known from old Dave solo demos.
3. "Why should I be hypnotized, by the promise of a long life?"

Answer: "Captain"

"Captain's" alternate title is "Crazy"; this song developed during the famous and sorely missed Dave and Tim acoustic tours.
4. "I wish that I could climb inside your mind And spend some time and hug and hold you and mold you into what I'd like, but no I can't do this"

Answer: "#40"

"#40" is a very rare and lovely song. If you've ever been to a DMB concert and you've heard even just a tease of this song, consider yourself lucky- I was lucky on July 8, 2000.
5. "Below it he would sit for hours at a time, now progress takes away what forever took to find"

Answer: "The Dreaming Tree"

"The Dreaming Tree" is personally one of my favorite songs by DMB. It is definitely a big reason why "Before These Crowded Streets" is such a vintage DMB album.
6. "Cause you don't know, what you don't know"

Answer: "Toy Soldiers"

"Toy Soldiers" evolved from the "Rain Intro"; it was often played between "Dancing Nancies" and "Warehouse" during the Summer Tour of 1996.
7. "One hand is bleeding and the other hand holds the gun"

Answer: "Raven"

"Raven" has always been a live favorite of mine; the lyircs have a lot of meaning.
8. "Walking by the river's edge, reach my hands to cup the sky"

Answer: "Blue Water"

"Blue Water Baboon Farm", or "Blue Water" as it is often called, is a very mellow song that seems to have disappeared from the band's live set except for a few teases over the past couple of tours.
9. "Oh so I'm praying all at night And I wake up praying the whole daylight, I pray to you and hear my request I ask of you to save this baby"

Answer: "Deed Is Done"

It has been said that this song was inspired by a young female fan, who was terminally stricken with leukemia. As the story goes, her last request was to meet Dave Matthews in person, and after visiting her, he was inspired to write "Deed is Done".
10. "Silence is poetry"

Answer: "The Last Stop"

"The Last Stop" is one of two Middle eastern style songs, the other being "Minarets". This song is making a heavy bid to be reinstated into setlists for the Winter 2002 Tour after not being played since 1999. The line "Silence is poetry" can be heard as the song first starts.
11. "Down time erases it I thought once or twice of being there with her"

Answer: "Me and Her"

There is only one known public version of "Me and Her".
12. "I'm not gonig to change my ways just to please you or appease you"

Answer: "Seek Up"

"Seek Up" is by far the band's best song to open a show with, and it also becomes one of the most lengthy songs during the course of a show.
13. "Wait and see my heart is bleeding but still I should call it home And teach my babies my sons and my daughters To love this place and share it with no one"

Answer: "Leave Me Praying"

"Leave Me Praying" evolved from "Weight of the World", and itself would eventually evolve into "Don't Drink The Water". It was very popular as an encore song during the 1997 Tour.
14. "It's like the balloon that rise and then vanish"

Answer: "Spoon"

"Spoon" is a beautiful song and, even though I am not an avid Alanis Morisette fan, I must say she does a lovely job on this song.
15. "Cause cry as I may, these tears won't wash you away"

Answer: "Hold Me Down"

"Hold Me Down" is as rare as they come; I don't have much to say about it except that it is a beautiful song.
