Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What ex-Kiss member helped form the glam-rock band White Tiger in 1986?

Answer: Mark St. John

White Tiger was a band Mark helped to form after being released from Kiss. White Tiger featured Mark's brother, Michael Norton on bass and David Donato on vocals. Donato was also briefly a member of Black Sabbath in 1984 when Ian Gillan reunited with his old band, Deep Purple. Donato did not record any albums with Black Sabbath.
Sadly, Mark passed away on April 5, 2007 of a cerebral brain hemorrhage.
2. What ex-Kiss member was once in the band Badlands with Jake E. Lee?

Answer: Eric Singer

When Jake E. Lee left Ozzy Osbourne's band after the hugely successful "The Ultimate Sin" tour, Lee founded Badlands and recruited Eric Singer as his drummer. Badlands also featured Ray Gillen, who had been the singer in both Black Sabbath and Blue Murder.
3. Which ex-Kiss member toured with Meat Loaf on the "Bat Out of Hell" tour in 1977 and 1978?

Answer: Bruce Kulick

Kulick was a member of Meat Loaf's touring band before finding success as the Kiss lead guitarist from 1984-1995. Kulick was also the guitarist on actor-turned-singer Don Johnson's 1980 release "Let
It Roll".
4. Which ex-Kiss member took the identity of a fox while in character with the band?

Answer: Eric Carr

Eric Carr, born Paul Caravello, was a highly regarded member of the Kiss lineup during virtually the entire decade of the 1980's. His work on "Lick It Up", the first Kiss album after the band took off the makeup, is thought of as some of the most inspired drum work on any Kiss album ever.
5. Which ex-Kiss member once had a job writing songs for the hit television show "Happy Days"?

Answer: Vinnie Vincent

Vinnie Vincent, who was the lead guitarist when the band decided to forego their makeup, once had the job of writing songs for television. All of the songs performed by "Joannie and Chachi" were written by Vincent.
6. Which ex-Kiss member played with Black Sabbath on the "Eternal Idol" and "Seventh Star" albums?

Answer: Eric Singer

Eric Singer was the drummer with Kiss from 1992 until the original line-up reunited in 1996. Singer played with Black Sabbath from 1986-1987 on the two albums mentioned.
7. Which ex-member of Kiss had to leave the band because of swelling hands due to arthritis?

Answer: Mark St. John

Mark St. John has the distinction of being the shortest tenured member of Kiss. He was diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome (an arthritic condition) and was forced out of the band, although many believe that the real reason was because Gene and Paul did not like his excessive showboating. St. John was the guitarist on the 1984 "Animalize" album, the album that helped restore the band to worldwide prominence.
8. Which ex-Kiss member took on the character of an Egyptian warrior while in Kiss character?

Answer: Vinnie Vincent

The band Slaughter was formed when Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum, of The Vinnie Vincent Invasion, broke away from Vincent in 1988. Vincent was relatively unheard from again until he was let back into the Kiss camp to help write portions of the "Revenge" album.
9. Which ex-Kiss member played in a band called Blackjack with a young Michael Bolton on vocals?

Answer: Bruce Kulick

Kulick and Bolton released two albums before hanging it up in 1980. Kulick also played with Billy Squier and back again with Bolton for Bolton's debut solo album. Bruce's brother, Bob Kulick, almost became an original member of Kiss when he auditioned in 1973. Bob did eventually get to play with Kiss, as a session guitarist on the studio tracks for the "Alive II" album in 1977.
10. Which ex-Kiss member sadly passed away on November 24, 1991 due to complications from cancer?

Answer: Eric Carr

Although Carr was not an original member of the band, many fans consider him to be the most proficient musician ever to appear with the band. The 1992 release, "Revenge", paid tribute to Carr with the song "Carr Jam 1981", a song recorded during the recording of "Music from The Elder". Carr was the drummer on nine Kiss albums and even played with Wendy O. Williams, of Plasmatics fame.
