Subject: Supernatural corner

After losing the myth, legend or fact forum I thought it would be nice to have a supernatural experiences and questions thread here, I'm sure there's still plenty of interest in it.

I saw a scary movie one time that I know I will never forget. At least this one part.

There was this painter who discovered that everything he sketched or painted would actually happen. I forgot what made him initially suspect something, but I remember when he went to find out for sure that something weird was going on, he put a slice of bread on the floor, then he drew a sketch of the bread. Well, then he erased a little piece off of the corner and stood back, and sure enough, this little mouse comes out and nibbles a little piece off the corner of the bread right in the same spot. Freakyyyy! :-(

Well, I don't remember what happens immediately after that, but it ends up with the guy sketching his own face and leaves it there in his home or studio or whatever. He has this glass roof or a sky window or something, and way up above that, there is this guy working on a billboard sign and he accidentally kicks off this can of paint thinner or turpentine or whatever. The can falls right through this artist guy's sky window and lands on a ledge or something right above his self portrait, and it shows the paint thinner pouring out, but it doesn't show what it's pouring on, it just shows the liquid coming out of the can.

Well, the next thing you know, this artist is crossing the street and he somehow gets run over by this big truck. Then it goes back to the guy's studio and shows his face on his self portrait is all mangled looking from that paint thinner spilling on it. Freakyyy! :-( Anyway, I was just a little kid when I saw that and it was pretty scary to me.

Thank you for sharing your videos! I admire your courage for getting up there and singing... you are braver than I! Although, based on what you've shared, you have faced more frightening circumstances!

I also think it's cool that you said "y'all" just now, scorpion. I say that all the time when I'm talking to people in person over here on my end and I said it a few times in the very beginning after I became a member here, but then I just pretty much quit saying it because I just figured it would be a little bit too "foreign," so to speak, for this particular crowd of outlaws and maniacs.

Did I ever tell you I was born in Texas? Yep, came out of my mom in Dallas. Was still just a baby when we moved up here to Oklahoma, but I lived in Arlington for all of '85 and the first half of '86. That's where I got married for the only time in my life and that's where I lived when the Challenger exploded on my 24th birthday. That was pretty horrible, but other than that, I really loved it there. Might even still be there to this day but my wife wanted us to move to Oregon so she could be close to her family and I figured that since I'm not tied to any geographical area, might as well make my wife happy, ya know? Loved it up there, too. I'm the type who can be happy anywhere I happen to go.

Anyway, let me go on and on about my childhood and my life for a good long while. No, I'm just kidding! I've got rounds to make around here and do my exercises to loosen up and prepare myself for my daily Duels. I'm a big time Duel nerd! :-)

Wait, this is the spooky, scary blog, isn't it? Well, let me part by saying something spooky and scary. Boo! :-)

@sadwings....I was born and raised in Beaumont, Tx and that is one scary place now. Y'all is an everyday word in my neck of the woods.

My brother was at Toledo Bend Lake fishing when the space shuttle Columbia came apart. It has haunted him all these years. He said it was gut wrenching to see. There are still people who walk the woods around the lakes looking for pieces of Columbia. There is a memorial that the people of Hemphill, Texas built.

Anyhow, I'm a Texan and embrace my southernisms :) I can turn my accent off when I want to, but I also love to turn it up a notch when I'm around folks who think that their sh*t don't stink :)

To keep on the supernatural subject, google the Saratoga lights. I went their in high school and saw the lights....or maybe it was the weed :) Lord the 1970's were fun!

sadwings... talk about a supernatural thread... I don't want to freak you out, but we have something in common! It's incredible! Brace yourself. This could blow your mind.

Ready?

I came out of my momma too!!!

(...haha)

I don’t know if this counts as supernatural or not. But it freaked me out.

The thought of something out there that could destroy a great white shark like that is so enticing and terrifying. I know killer whales can, but like the article says, they don’t go that deep.

Yeah, scorpion, I'm pretty much the same way with turning my accent off and on. I have what I kind of consider to be a "neutral" accent, for lack of a better word. Even as a young kid, it was important for me to pronounce my words properly. As I grew up in Oklahoma and Arkansas, I just felt like a lot of people around me just simply sounded uneducated to me by the way they talked, and I felt that I didn't want to sound that way. As a result, after living on all three coasts - or close enough in Oregon -and a few places in between, I've had lots of people tell me all my life that I don't really have much of a southern accent after they have learned where I am from, but yeah, I can really turn one on when I want to.

Yeah, that was some pretty freaky stuff with the unknown sea predator, jen. 95% of the ocean depths is a lot of unknown territory. Who knows what kind of stuff is lurking around in those places.

So you like that football, ay, jen? Me, too. Love it. College and pros both. Are you a big time Wolverine fan? I have a lot of respect for the football program they have there. They don't just produce great teams year after year after year, it's more along the lines of decade after decade, just like my Oklahoma Sooners and a bunch of other great college teams like Georgia and Alabama and Ohio State (ring a bell? ;-) ) and LSU and USC and, okay, quite a few Texas teams as well, scorpion. (I had to throw in a few Texas teams in there so I'm not alienating scorpion. :-p )

Anyway, I love it now that football season is here once again, and since this is the supernatural thread and we are supposed to be talking about supernatural stuff, let me just go ahead and use words like "scary" and "unpredictable" and just say that this may possibly turn out to be a scary, unpredictable year for both college and pro football. My prediction for the overall season for both of them? Lots of running and passing, lots of tackling and turnovers, lots of scoring, and more than anything, lots and lots of prancity dancity "look at me!" strutting all up and down the field and all over the endzone just for doing what these incredibly unsportsmanlike clowns get paid big bucks to do, and providing fans like me with lots and lots of good old fashioned nausea from all of it. :-) Oh, and lots of screaming, out of control fans. Your thoughts, jen and scorpion?

Aggie fan, ay? Why you...…..I oughta...….you little...….I oughta.………..oh, a wise guy, ay?......why you...….I oughta.….
Ahyuk! Bet you've never been told off like that before, ay? You guys are college football team bogarts over there, bogarting all those great college teams. Seems like you guys have got more of them than any other state, and they are all almost always tough opponents for the SEVEN TIME national champion Oklahoma Sooners. You guys stop that! Stop bogarting and being such tough opponents for us over here! :-p

Oh yes. Yes yes yes. Huge football fan! It was essentially torture waiting for college and pro seasons to begin.
I was raised right. Keep that in mind. Therefore… yes! Huge Wolverines fan! (haha, I always try to get a knock on Michigan State)
Oklahoma is a program I respect; I feel like we’re similar when it comes to respect to each other’s programs. Oklahoma kept it classy while they won all of those titles, there haven’t been huge scandals or any of that junk.
Are you happy for Baker Mayfield?
I wish there was Monday Night Football on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday…
I don’t think I could ever, ever get sick of football.
I have a bold prediction. Ready?
Next Sunday Night Football game… I predict… a team from the NFC East will win!
Sometimes my predictions are so accurate it’s scary!

Yeah, I think that's pretty cool about Baker. Other than a couple of expansion teams that came into the league late and that I can't ever seem to remember, there are two teams from the original league who have never been to a Super Bowl, and the Browns are one of them. The other one is the Lions, and I would just love to see both teams make it to the Super Bowl at least once before I die. Maybe Baker will be the man to take Cleveland to their first one ever. That would be the coolest! :-)

With the Browns being AFC and the Lions being NFC, what would be the ultimate for me is to see both of them go to the SB at the same time. Of course, the odds against that happening would probably be pretty astronomical. If both of them ever make it, I'm sure it will likely be in different seasons. However, that freaky possibility is still out there.

One thing that just chaps my butt to no end is the way that they play the Pro Bowl BEFORE the Super Bowl now. It could not possibly make less sense, and I still to this very day don't know why they changed it around like that. There's no way in hell the coaches are going to let their following week SB players play in the Pro Bowl, which is perfectly understandable, but these are players who have earned the right to be there, and now they have the opportunity to play taken away from them because of the switch. On top of that, I have had 4 Super Bowls fall on my birthday, but I can just kiss those special birthday Super Bowls goodbye forever now. :-( Had one birthday Super Bowl where my Cowboys won it for me. My 34th birthday in '96. I'll certainly never forget that one as long as I live! :-)

Yeah, talk about never getting tired of football, if it was up to me, I would have each weeks games broken down like this: Two games each day of the week, Monday through Friday, let's say the first one around 3 or 4 in the afternoon with a 3 1/2 hour time slot, and the next game after that. That would leave 3 games on Saturday and 3 on Sunday, all of them with a 3 1/2 hour time slot so that none of them overlap, or if they did, it would be by very little. Of course, that would be the 16-game weeks. When the bye weeks started, I suppose I would take those out of the weekly games and still leave Saturday and Sunday with 3 games each. I know there would be a lot of furious wives out there who would probably want to put a contract out on me, but that's how I would do it. :-)

As for all things supernatural, who knows, maybe it will be the Ghosts and the Monsters who make it to the Super Bowl this year. Ten four, good buddy! I'm south bound and outta town! :-)

Umm, just figured I should let you know. My dad/David/yesimtbird is coming home tomorrow!!! He did have heart surgery and has been out of hospital for awhile but staying at my aunts/his sisters. I've been keeping up on some of his daily games for him like the Global Challenge thing. As of tomorrow he will be back here. I'm gonna get my own name cause I got addicted to this by playing his stuff. He has talked about friends on here especially Elle and Jo. Wondered how Elle is doing and why he hasn't heard anything from Jo. Has said to say thank you for the good wishes from those of you who offered. There will be more stories when he gets back as more occurrences have happened since he went into hospital and I saw a couple. Yes, I have my dad's gift/curse. But I will let dad tell you about all that so I turn this back over to him. On the lighter side, anybody have a good idea for a name for me? The spirit seeing daughter of a spirit seer?? :) Will let you know my name when I chose it. Til then take care and thank you all. I know Dad appreciates it.
Love Michelle
PS also posting this in the supernatural thing.
