Subject: Supernatural corner

After losing the myth, legend or fact forum I thought it would be nice to have a supernatural experiences and questions thread here, I'm sure there's still plenty of interest in it.

It is quite possible that Earth could be the only planet with intelligent life, were it proven that life here is actually intelligent to start with!

Some good reads here, thanks Satguru and other posters.
I have had a few things happen to me that might be considered `supernatural' but I prefer the umbrella term of `metaphysics' which to me means: sometimes explained, or partly true science.
I had a dream at around 20 years old, which was scary true,t he very next morning, down to a shovel near a hole where I used to live in Toronto.
I have also studied the `arcane' and learned how to go into "trance" I was very skeptical at first, but I cannot deny the results, fantastic! Visualization training helped to open this `door of perception'. I have been through two more, one I do not ever want to revisit. The other relates to mind over matter, telekinesis. Sorry, no video tape! This was in 1983. I have seen two UFO's (unknown to me anyway).
I am still a skeptic however of other things, I wait for years to pass and let the debunkers mull(maul?) them over.
As for `Nessie' I always thought the most famous picture looked `off' with regard to apparent scale. This `monster' was revealed to be a hoax in the early 90s. 1993 or `84.
Well, now I must get back to the games, later!

Why is it so impossible that Earth is the only planet in the universe with intelligent life? Of all the mammals on earth, how many of them lay eggs? It used to be one for God knows how long, but I guess it's evidently two now. Copy cats.

The Christian Bible states that during the onset of the Second Coming when Christ will appear in the heavens before all mankind, "the guns of all the nations will unite and turn against Christ in the heavens." Why would this happen? How could it happen?

It's because by the time this event takes place, mankind as a whole will be so utterly brainwashed into believing that aliens exist, they will honestly believe with all of their misguided being that the earth is being invaded by some alien power. Take a little time and put a little thought toward that, my friends.

What is supernatural is, for some, broad and not dictated by what society says it is. Others just accept what the conventional definition is.

Human interpretation is diverse and if one is open-minded enough, so are interpretations.

One doesn’t need “visual cues” to experience what is otherworldly or supernatural.

I've seen a ghost. It was my wife's sister, who had died in her early 30's due to lung problems. The sight of her ghost was eerie, yet oddly comforting in a way. I may have also been visited by a ghost that helped me after I was involved in a serious car accident. My vehicle rolled over and someone appeared out of nowhere to help me get untangled from my seatbelt and out of the vehicle before it caught fire. This "someone" disappeared after helping me and I never saw them again. They bore a striking resemblance to an uncle of mine who had recently passed away BEFORE my accident.

If "someone" helped you out of a car that had crashed, and then disappeared, my bet is, that was an angel. Not a ghost. Ghosts are apparitions. Angels are real. But, you don't have to believe me. You don't even have to believe in them for them to show up when you need them. Nothing will make a believer out of you than to have an angel show up, though. It's hard to dispute when it happens.

I believe in the Loch Ness Monster.

I also believe in the Flathead Lake Monster, and no way do I believe that's a sturgeon. I've seen it -- twice. Once at a birthday party when I was in my early teens, and another time having dinner at the lake with my parents. It was just off the dock. My Dad grabbed his video camera and recorded the entire thing. And now, we can't find it anywhere. What's up with that? (Rhetorical -- it will surely turn up.)

Most people who have seen that thing don't like to talk about it, because people don't believe them. I just hope my Dad didn't turn into one of those and destroyed or hid that tape.

Wally, how big was the person who helped you out of the car? And it was a male, right?

I'd love to hear more about this.

But again, be careful about "opening your mind" to just anything. Because just anything can come in, and then you'll literally play hell getting it back out again.

As someone mentioned above, opening thee doors, one of which he never wants to visit again. That was a doorway that shouldn't have been opened.

Angels aren't cute little cherubs with wings and arrows that fly around, hitting you with pink and red Valentines. Angels are warriors.

Thanks everyone for keeping this going, as some know I've been rather diverted for the last year or so but have returned to usual service.

What is considered supernatural is either science we are not yet aware of, such as telepathy which is fully accepted between machines but not animals, or translocation where things go from one place to another without the space in between, but is now known to be real in quantum physics.

Alternatively it is not considered possible at all in any physics, such as reversing time, repairing things which are shattered back to perfect, raising the dead, walking through walls or levitation, but all these have been reported as well. Ultimately if we can dream or imagine something it could be possible, if we are in a program running which is similar to a computer where anything can happen if written to allow it, and physics may vary depending which frequency we resonate on, as this universe has its own but may be one of an infinite number (again known to be possible in quantum physics).

Group telepathy, knowledge of anything as if using the internet in your mind, talking to entities across and outside our universe etc are all related to the theory we are consciousness inhabiting a temporary body, which is actually infinite, but we forget our existence in most cases once we are born. But most people can't remember the first few years of their lives but know they did exist. It's a lot more logical than most people think.

I really can't help but to wonder why I have so thoroughly missed out on all of the mysterious, unexplained phenomena of this life and of this world that we live in. I have never seen a ghost or an angel or a vampire or a UFO or an alien or Bigfoot or any other unworldly monster. Never experienced telepathy or had any dreams that have come true or just ever had any experience with anything that could be considered unworldly or supernatural. I do believe that some of this phenomena does exist in some form or another, I have just never experienced any of it, and it seems that most people - as in over 50% - have experienced some element of these things in one way or another.

Probably the thing that really puzzles me the most is the thing with ghosts. I've read where scientists estimate that there have been roughly 100 billion people who have lived and died on this earth since man first appeared. That is probably accurate to within 10% either way. That would mean that there are roughly 13 ghosts for every human being alive on the planet today. You would think that we would all be bumping into them left and right everywhere we went. Well, my 13 ghosts have stayed well clear of me all my life. Maybe they are scared to death of me, I don't know.

Here's another thing. It's like ghosts want to be seen - as long as it's only by one person at a time and only for a brief instant. Why don't they ever appear at a crowded mall or at a sporting event in front of 80,000 screaming maniacs. No record of anything like that ever happening. Hmmm.

You know the jillions of haunted house cases where someone was murdered in the house and then the ghost of the murdered person haunts whoever lives there after that? Why does the ghost not pop up and slam the doors on their murderer before the murderer even has a chance to get out of the house after they have committed the murder? I guess a person evidently can't become a ghost right away, they must have to be initiated or maybe attend some kind of ghost school or something, ay?

As for the thing about ghosts hanging around in whatever building they died in, where do you suppose that would lead one to believe there would be the most ghosts? Maybe I'm going way out on a limb here, but I'm going to say..........maybe hospitals? I've been a patient in what can't possibly be less than 8 hospitals in the last 30 years, and never once have I seen or heard or felt a ghost in any of them. Maybe ghosts really are afraid of people when there is more than one of them around.

My own personal peeve is not with ghosts, but with space aliens. Here they are, with their advanced technology centuries beyond ours and able to travel many light-years to study our planet, and who is it they choose to abduct? The President of the US? The Secretary General of the UN? A brilliant scientist that may be able to act as an intermediary with the highest levels of our technological society? No. No. And No. It seems these highly advanced aliens always seem to abduct drunken hillbillies who are unable to ask them even one useful question. Why is this, space aliens? Are you afraid we might comprehend some of your technology if you abduct someone with an IQ over 100? So I dare you, space aliens. I double dog dare you. Abduct me. I'll actually ask you some pointed questions about your technology and your advanced society.

Yeah. I thought so.

Don't move, brm, don't even blink. Don't mean to alarm you, but...........there seems to be a SPACE ALIEN RIGHT BEHIND YOU! :-(

Yeah, those silly space aliens do seem to go after our drunken hillbillies pretty hard and heavy. With them having technology that is centuries ahead of us, you wouldn't think they would have to get close to us to get the answers that they were looking for. Seems like they would be able to zoom right in on us from far away.

I wonder if our ghosts would know the answers to the alien mystery? Couldn't hurt to round some of them up and ask them about it. You know they are obviously everywhere, so it shouldn't be too hard finding them. I would at least like to know where they get their clothes.

And when a hillbilly comes back from an abduction and tells their story to our "highly critical" press, what is it they say the aliens told them? It almost always goes something like this: "Be excellent to each other, and, party on dudes! (Apparently space aliens are fans of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.) The aliens only want us to have world peace, which we can easily get by only saying nice things to each other, never arguing, and not worrying about stuff."

I wonder if space aliens have their own ghosts. If so, do they bring their ghosts with them or leave them back in their hospitals on their own planets? Cletus? Next time you get abducted, could you remember to ask them about the ghosts? I know it's hard getting in a word edgewise with all their blathering on about world peace (apparently the Miss Universe contest really is Miss *UNIVERSE*), but could you try, Cletus? Enquiring minds want to know.

Haha Brian!

I have two ghost stories that will blow your hair back, but telling them would take up too much space.

But I'll shorten them.

In a galaxy, far, far away, I lived in one lovely house I was renting, in the middle of nowhere, and things got so out of hand, I decided to move to get away from whatever was going on in there. It was too creepy and exhausting.

So, I moved to another lovely, but very OLD house in the middle of nowhere, and it was worse than the one I fled. The things that happened in that house were so terrifying, I moved again just to get away from it.

I don't know about ghosts -- I never saw anything -- but both places were absolutely haunted, and not with anything good. Nothing ever actually physically hurt or harmed me, but it was very close a couple of times. Ugh, it creeps me out just thinking about it.

Kevin, those are some very good questions. Why don't ghosts show up in malls or stadiums full of people? And why not in hospitals or assisted living facilities?

I'm not sure how I feel about aliens. After watching "Indepdendence Day: Resurgent" or whatever the heck it's called, it's amazing how far we've progressed in 20 years to the year 2016! Who knew we had all that technology now to fight off species who are only here to drill to the earth's core and destroy us?

And Holy Crap! Was that a Stealth Bomber that just flew over the Pasadena stadium???? You have to be kidding me...

Have you ever seen one of those before? They're not easy to see when they're on the ground, just sitting there!

I'm fairly sure ghosts are terrified of hospitals (actual ones, not evven touching the mental institutions). Haven't you heard the medical horror stories coming out of your everyday hospital?

And stadiums? Well, I think they're just too noisy. And there are rowdy people hurting each other (all stuff I've heard, mind you).

Ghosts don't haunt houses, or not all; lot of old houses have spirits hanging around, and spirits are different from ghosts (I can't off the top of my head give a definition, but I know there's a difference). Spirits just radiate "bad vibes" or whatever (not all of them; it'ws the ghools and other spooky types that send those). There really is not much good in the spirit world, that is if you're open to it; because, let's face it, the Light isn't all that roams through that door. And if we are sensitive at all to Darkness, then it just surrounds us, especially if our lives were filled with horrors before the spirits visited. Truly nasty stuff, some of that).

I generally remain tight-lipped about my supernatural encounters. Everyone would laugh at me, and sometimes I still find it hard believing myself (though it's an actual valid thing... synesthesia I believe they call it).

No, no, the "spirit world" isn't all dark, Jazzee.

But yes, if you don't know what you're doing, or you don't have a solid base, if you just open yourself up, it's probably going to be that "dark stuff" that comes roaring in. It's just looking for a soft place to land.

I wouldn't laugh at your stories.

I've slept in cemeteries overnight by myself on dares, I've been to a number of séances, still never experienced the slightest little thing out of the ordinary.

It's not only all of that, it's also something written in that religious book that starts with a "B". When the group of people we will just call "followers" asked that one guy whose name begins with a "J" what it was like to be dead, the J guy simply said it was just like being asleep. People who are asleep aren't running around trying to terrify people. What they ARE doing - as crazy as this sounds - is sleeping.

If I am ever presented with proof that ghosts exist, I will be the biggest believer who ever lived, but I know that's never going to happen. With all of the photography equipment we have now that can do all these miraculous things, if ghosts did exist, it would have been proven a long, long time ago. The fact that half of the world is convinced that there are ghosts while the other half is convinced that there isn't pretty much speaks for itself. I mean, how many people alive today are convinced that the world is flat?

I never said the spirit world was all dark, Elle. If thats how you interpreted that, I appologize, cos wer living proof that isnt how it works. That whole synesthesia thing is "a physical manifestation of the battle between light and darkness" as we put it. If somebody led you to believe we think its all dark... o, thats embarrassing. Point was, I believe, that if youre receptive to the darkness (and not blocking it out), then thats whats gonna "come in." Dark spiirits love to play tricks on us humans. Low-frequency energies abound, so unless youre aware (and watching your own frequency) things can turn into a nightmare quick from which you, without help, cannot rectify/escape. Hope that helps.

Grounding and centering are essential.

Uneducated people, maybe, and thats a big maybe. Cos I really dont see that one anymore.

I think a lot of people get ghosts and spirits confused. Do I believe in ghosts? No; I do, however, believe in spirits. Logic... combined with experience (a little of it).

It can be disconcerting to, say, see random flashes of light (followed by bursts of darkness) without knowing what youre experiencing/seeing.

We have also been in a room and seen this big abyss open up in the hallway, only for there to be this light smack in the middle of it (thats how it looks to us); or the light will be on the sides, and the dark is filling up the middle.

Mostly we see the display on our walls (and bear in mind that our bathroom has no windows). I should mention that this happened when we lived with Mom yet, too.We found the light comforting (and yes, wer aware that physical manifestation can be deceiving).

Well, that sounds completely terrifying, Jazzee.

Kebbin, where in that B book does J say being dead is like being asleep?

I know I said I lived in two haunted houses, and I did, and I think I even called them ghost stories, but I don't know what they were. I didn't "see" anything that looked like anything, but whatever was going on there, it was really creepy and scared the heck out of me, and I'm sure that was the intention.

I "saw" something in one house I lived in that looked like a spider the size of a cat running up the stairs to the apartment upstairs while my roommate was out of town. I'm terrified of spiders, but that thing made me so angry, I went after it, in the dark. I was furious "it" was in my house. Once I got up there, and started turning on lights, looking for it, I couldn't find it.

And... I don't want to tell you what I did next.

I wonder why talking about this is like telling someone you saw Bigfoot? There is so much hesitation.
