Subject: Supernatural corner

After losing the myth, legend or fact forum I thought it would be nice to have a supernatural experiences and questions thread here, I'm sure there's still plenty of interest in it.

That's great news about your dad, Michelle. I have a brother named David. It's also very cool that you have decided to join us. Lots of fun stuff to do around here, ay? I'm sure you will let us know who you are when you have joined us with your new name. :-)

Really cool idea with that name, Michelle. I don't think I could have come up with anything better. I've never been very good at coming up with names as in usernames or code names or anything like that. My own username was derived from the fact that I am fascinated with birds and I often wish I could sprout wings and just fly away from all my troubles to a faraway land. That and I am always sad and depressed all the time because I am a goofy nerd that everyone is always constantly making fun of. :-( No, I'm only kidding! Actually my name is part of the name of an album by one of those loud long-haired hippie rock and roll bands. I guess if I was related to you and your dad and had a "yes" name like you guys, I guess it would probably have to be yesimamaniacrockandrolloutlaw. :-p

I was just thinking about something, Michelle. When your dad gets back and the supernatural stuff starts up again, well, it's just that I don't have anything to contribute to that topic, so I will likely not be posting anything here. I have a blog called Thank God For Buddy Holly and a thread over in General Chat called The Fun Trivia Bar & Grill that you are welcome to visit any time. People can talk about just anything they want to on both of them.

Ha, a Cleveland VS Detroit Super Bowl… that’d be something to see! I am a Lions fan. I have friends who are fans of Packers and they ask me why I never talk down about their team since we’re in the same division. I say… basically, if we’re on your level, maybe. But I have no ground to stand on, so…
Hey, Browns VS Lions could happen! Maybe in the year 2137 when ACL tears sideline players for a week and quarterbacks are given force fields to prevent injuries. :)

We agree on that… why change the Pro Bowl? It’s supposed to be the best of the best, right? It’s sad when guys decline to go. Reminds me of when Vince Young got in with pretty pedestrian numbers. And it makes me sad because years ago, if a player lost in the Super Bowl, if he chose, he could go to Hawaii a week later and play another game. A head-scratcher, that change.
Hey, now that’s what I call a birthday present! That’s crazy how many SB have fallen on your special day.

I am into that idea! No overlapping games. I hate that there are so many games being played at the same time every Sunday. I watch (I think it’s called) NFL Gameday that sums up each game, but it’s like a 20-second clip. I want to see as much as I can. Where I live, I hardly ever get to see teams like the Chargers or Titans, unless they’re on prime time.

Yeah, I'm the kind of fan who likes to see everybody get a slice of that glory pie, so as a result of that, every division has teams that I root for and want to see do well. Very often I am for the team who has been to the SB or the playoffs fewer times than the team they are playing, which means I am often for the underdog in a lot of games. It also means that I'm not always for the same teams from one season to the next, it just all depends on the standings. I may even be rooting for one team one week and rooting against them the next. Just makes things interesting and a lot of fun for me, and you will never hear me say "I hate" this team or that team. I really don't particularly care to use that word regarding much of anything at all to begin with. People usually don't stop and think about what they are really saying when they use that word. I think it's ridiculous for people to say that they hate a certain sports team or player. I'm thinking, why, what did that team or player ever do to you? Win a championship game against your favorite team or knock your favorite team out of the playoffs? Please.

Sorry, I am very much into supernatural discussions, but I admit I love football and get distracted by it like a cat chasing the crazy path of a mosquito.

Football is good for you. :-) Such a great sport, especially many years ago when the guys who played it knew what true sportsmanship was all about. Now it's all about who does the best "Look at me" dance routine, at least in the pros, but that's what the fans want to see, so it gets overlooked. Makes me sick to watch that crap.

If I was a coach or a team owner, I would tell my guys, "Act like a grown man and play the damn game like a grown man, or you can watch the game from the bench. Pull the dance crap a second time and you will be suspended."

Paul Brown used to tell his players when they scored a touchdown, "act like you've been there before."

Yeah, it's too bad the league doesn't have more Paul Browns and Tom Landry. I was pretty young and just beginning to even learn the basics of football during Tom Landry's last 4 or 5 years or so with the Cowboys, and to this very day I have never seen any other coach who could remain so calm and cool under any given situation. There's no way I would be able to control myself that well as a coach in this type of game. I'm not saying I would rage out to the point of giving myself heart attacks like great coaches like Mike Ditka, but throwing my clipboard down and cussing like a sailor at certain times, oh yeah, you could bet your last buck on that one.

Ff..ff..foootbaall! :-)

We'll be back to tell more scary stories later! It's Football Season, and nothing can take away from that, not even a Blog devoted to The Supernatural. (But if my Rockies can pull up from the slump they now find themselves in, it will surely be Supernatural. Baseball, I know, but still... it's also almost Rocktober!)
