Subject: Nasty goes to The Match

This is my new blog about all things sports.

Warning to any North American readers expecting any of your sports to be featured. They will not. I do not watch Baseball, Basketball, Ice Hockey or American Football.

I am a huge sports fan though. The most important being football, or soccer to those in North America, in particular the team I have supported since I was a boy. Huddersfield Town.

Karius has seemed somewhat error prone! Liverpool look strong for the coming season but I don't think Klopp is a winner, I think he is a nearly man. Time will tell I guess, I'd like to be wrong about that I really would.

Geraint Thomas won a magical Tour de France. Amazing performance from the Welshman. Thoroughly enjoyed it and luckily I watched some of the two stages he won.

Finally, what the hell kind of scheduling is it to have Andy Murray complete his match yesterday in the Citi Open Washington at just after three in the morning! Nobody was there by the look of the stands! Crazy. Who wants to still be at a tennis match at that time of night! He won and cried. Good lad.

He is not playing the next two tournaments. terrible playing that late.
Shame about Karius I actually liked him and thought he may come good as did De Gea when he first was at Man U. The champions league final was a real breaking point for him. (and the fans). Never mind we can try again this year.
Our first game is against West Ham but at home and they have done a lot of strengthening of their team. Mind you so did Everton last year and it led to nothing. Still I am rather nervous all the same.
What team do you support. Can't remember if I read it on the previous page.
I play the Selco Predictor each week run in conjunction with Talk Sport and I join a mini league on it also. Really enjoy doing this even if sometimes my results are a bit dodgy.

It’s Huddersfield Town rubytops. We’ve got Klopps mate, David Wagner, in charge and the guy is a genius!

Looking forward to a home game vs Chelsea next weekend.

I think Liverpool look really strong, I think they will challenge on all fronts.

What about England cricket team today?! Great win and what looked like a great Test.

I’ve been reminded today of a saying:

Doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Insanity?

This can sometimes be attributed to sporting scenarios where a coach or team or player is unwilling to change or learn from their mistakes. Sometimes they continue with the same view, unable to take onboard any other viewpoint or criticism to be able to adapt and grow.

Anyone got examples of such sportspersons? Coaches?

Yes WWE, I think if more of the Indian batsmen had had chance to adapt more to facing the England seam attack in home conditions then that would have been an easy win.

October 20th eh! I'll be there. Didn't do very well against Liverpool last year. I didn't see the Anfield game but in the home game we kept them at bay until half time... almost! Conceding the goal just before halftime was a kick in the teeth that we never recovered from. Liverpool never really needed to get out of 2nd gear in that game so I didn't really see how impressive they can be. The best team performances I saw at the John Smiths last year were Spurs, Chelsea and even though we fought tooth and nail Manchester City looked awesome too.

I have just got back from a weekend in Liverpool, made sure to go to Stanley Park to take a quick look at Anfield and Goodison Park.

Just caught up with UFC 227. Mighty Mouse, Demetrius Johnson, lost to Henry Cejudo! Wow, that was a close fight. Split decision, really could have been either way. Hope they have a third fight.

Anyone else been watching European Championships (Athletics) on TV? Quite entertaining and Team GB doing well, last I saw of medal table, second only to Russia.

With football, we started the season with an encouraging draw away to Notts County..........could consider ourselves unlucky not to have taken all 3 points, as hit both crossbar and upright........but I'll "take" a draw away from home as a decent result most times.

Watched the United v Leicester game on TV last night. How lucky are the red and black team to get a penalty after 2 minutes! How unfortunate for Leicester who actually overall were the better team. They should have put Vardy on much earlier. Still I was happy with the outcome as it matched my prediction so lots of points for that coming my way.

Haven’t watched any of the European Champs this time. Keeping track of the cricket though, looking good for the test win!

I was at the John Smiths Stadium today to see Town play the mighty Chelsea. We were giving them a good game for half an hour but then they scored and it went downhill from there.

Still, need to remember that in the corresponding fixture last season we basically played defence vs attack and hardly crossed the halfway line. The result was more or less the same though. We looked good pressing them and trying to get forward though, against lesser teams we should be ok. Nice easy one next game. Manchester City away.

Get the big boys outta the way first!!
I am already nervous for our match against West Ham. They are a bit of an unknown quantity with all these new players they have. Living in Essex I also have a lot of friends who are hammers supporters.
Sorry Huddersfield lost. I didn;t see the match.

See Andy Murray lst in the first round if the current tournament he was playing in. I doubt he will ever get back to his former playing status. Shame when injury does this to a person.

Yep, he might do you never know.

He is paying for his style right now. His physicality has been one of his main attributes and it's obviously tough to keep that up. Djokovic seemed to have suffered a similar fate but has managed to come back but not to his best.

It sure was nice to see (well listen to, I never saw so much as a single tee shot) Tiger in contention over the weekend. Made me wonder what year it was, maybe I was 18 years old again? Ah bugger, never mind. I'm still young though, younger than Tiger. His second place puts him in contention for a Ryder Cup spot.

Looks very much like a two horse race for the Premier League. Manchester City and Liverpool. Maybe one of the others will pop up and surprise. Who knows.
