Subject: Nasty goes to The Match

Posted by: nasty_liar

This is my new blog about all things sports.

Warning to any North American readers expecting any of your sports to be featured. They will not. I do not watch Baseball, Basketball, Ice Hockey or American Football.

I am a huge sports fan though. The most important being football, or soccer to those in North America, in particular the team I have supported since I was a boy. Huddersfield Town.

I didn't watch it, assume it was on a subscription channel that I will not allow to extort ludicrous money from me for the privilege.

Bad news for you, but keeps the title race interesting!

Yes it is on Sky. I have Virgin Media and add sky on...BT is n my package. I watch a lot on Sky Sport other than football so I feel it is worth the extra I pay and it is a choice.

I think the cost of Sky is extortionate. I will never subscribe to that, and definitely not for Sports even a few years ago when I easily had the disposable income available. Of course it is a choice though.

I am actually not sure what extra I pay for Sky Sports. I usually now renegotiate my contract with Virgin every year. I have all services with them. I do object really that to get BT Sports I have to subscribe to the extra large TV package but then whatever package you have you have to have children's programmes which I have no interest in whatsoever. No grandchildren and kids over the road getting bigger now.

About £30 per month??

Huddersfield are out of the cup, that was quick...

Relegation looms! Not been much to cheer about this season, I’ve watched them win once this season (and once on tv when they won away at Wolves).

Just out of curiosity and because I didn't have a full breakdown of my bill I rang Virgin Media and asked what I was paying each month for Sky Sports. The amount for Sky Sport is £31.75 but I negotiated a discount and actually pay £22.00. This is until February 8th when I will need to renegotiate my package.
We play Wolves this evening probably with a slightly different team to that which was playing Man City last week. I wont be home this evening so I have it on record.

Let's hope Liverpool do better against Brighton on Saturday. Lots of injuries in defence currently. Please klopp don't play Moreno.

Looks like there will be no fairy tale come back for Andy Murray. When he does finally admit defeat and hang up his racket he can be proud I think that he mixed it for so many years with, arguably, three of the greatest players of all time.

I think Andy should have given up a few years ago. He will be missed but the right decision made. Lost today in Melbourne and I doubt he will make Wimbledon.

They are going to give him a statue outside Wimbledon and quite rightly too.

I’m gutted that David Wagner has decided he’s had enough. The ride is over... and I don’t mean the top flight is over for us, although it will be, I mean this special time we’ve had with Wagner. What a remarkable guy, special group of players and perfect storm that was created within the club.
We’ve had promotions before within my lifetime and therefore I’ve experienced teams riding high in the lower divisions but the atmosphere and sheer exuberance created by Wagner and the club had been magnificent to experience.
My favourite moment, possibly of all time, supporting Town was the last minute winner against Leeds almost two years ago. Scored by a huge character in the dressing room and around the club, Michael Hefele, and celebrated wildly by the players and manager. Yes when we scored and the players wheeled away to celebrate and I saw Wagner take off running down to that end of the pitch to celebrate with them. That was incredible. These times will be remembered as the greatest times supporting Town for more than a generation as I think we will fold back into the Championship pack.

Hope he is successful whatever he does next, Klopp could do far worse than tempt him into the fold at Liverpool you know.

No idea who will be next, but it’s sunday we play Man City not Saturday :)

So what do you think of your new manager?
He is the youngest in the premier league.
Looks very nice to me.

So sad about the new Cardiff signing and the small plane he was coming to the U.K. going missing over the channel. . I doubt now any news will be good news now. This is the second air tragedy to hit UK football in athe last few of months. I pray for all those involved.

Good to see Serena Williams out of the tennis. I'm sure Naomi Osaka is relieved not to be playing her again!

Have finally managed to track down radio commentary on West Indies v England test match. Somehow listening seems less masochistic than watching ......
