Subject: Nasty goes to The Match

This is my new blog about all things sports.

Warning to any North American readers expecting any of your sports to be featured. They will not. I do not watch Baseball, Basketball, Ice Hockey or American Football.

I am a huge sports fan though. The most important being football, or soccer to those in North America, in particular the team I have supported since I was a boy. Huddersfield Town.

The defence line up was definitely a problem last night. Why not play the in form Alexander Arnold. Of course I would say that being a kopite. I personally don't have high expectations of the England team at all but I do expect a certain standard of play. Lets hope for better on Monday evening. This is a match we now need to win.

It's easy to say that you expect a certain standard though eh? I mean, England could very easily have drawn and on a different night won that game and the outlook would be totally different but the performance the same. Not excusing anything. I think they're average.

Just saying, it's rarely quite as bad as everyone makes out and the media jumps on. If you want bad then look north of the border! Haha terrible!

I think the'll beat Bulgaria on Monday and nobody will care about last night.

They were worse than average and bickering amongst each other some of the time. No real camerarderie or adaptability . The only reason they got the first goal was because Sterling got a soft penalty call gifted by the unreliable VAR system following the refs decision not to award one as he considered that Sterling had dived. Penalty converted by the apparently Mr Wonderful Kane.

I'll take the odd average performance though against what we used to get. Bearing in mind that this group is not great I think they have done well under Southgate. How many of England's current side would have gotten into the side ten years ago? Or twenty? Very few.

England win away from home 6-0 but the game will not be remembered for that. Just a draw out of the last two games qualifies England for the European championships.

Looking forward to the domestic schedule coming back this weekend though. International football is never as good.

Andy Murray. Incredible. To come back with his shiny new metal hip and win a tour level title beating fellow three time grand slam winner Stan Wawrinka is just remarkable.

Bit like Cortiniho leaving Liverpool for Barca.

Liverpool players now have Champions League winners medals and what has Cortiniho got.....the push from Barca and a transfer to Bayern. Just proves that the grass is not always greener.

I'm afraid the rugby World Cup has passed me by mostly except for watching out for the results!

England have had to knock out both Australia and New Zealand. Now they will need to beat South Africa in the Final. If done it will be a great achievement.

Felt for Wales earlier though, so close.

I thought the England - NZ match was superb but the Wales - SA match was rather dull by comparison. Looking forward to the final, which England should win if they put in another performance like the one against NZ.

The best thing about Harry Maguire is that he could feature in a Yorkshire XI if we had our own football side in international football.

John stones, Harry, Gary Cahill, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose as a back 5.

James Milner, Fabian Delph and Aaron Lennon in the middle

Jamie Vardy up front partnered by the weakest link, either Cameron Jerome or Fraiser Campbell (both Huddersfield lads).

Lots of talk, but no action so far, adding players to our one year old MLS Franchise. We finished the 2019 season with a 6-22-6 record. Hopefully next year will be better.
