Curious, what are you watching while the world spins around us?

What's your favorite thing about it? Does it help you get through?

Something I may re-watch as I quite enjoyed it, is a Spanish TV series from 2015, called "The Ministry of Time".......anyone who likes Science Fiction, I recommend you give it a try.

While we're stuck at home, my family and I have been slowly making our way through the pile of episodes of 'Jeopardy!' and 'Wheel of Fortune' that we have taped. Definitely useful for FunTrivia!

To second the recommendations of others: Luther, Broadchurch (season 1), Bosch

I checked out a recommendation here - Silent Witness. There are something like 20 seasons of it! I'm on Season 2 (there were only 4 episodes in Season 1), and will probably take a break from it after I finish the second season.

I started heavy tv watching in early Feb because I broke my femur and could barely even stand up at that point. So I got a 4-week head start on sheltering in place - LOL. I started with Bosch, then watched all the episodes of DCI Banks, Blue Murder, and Scott & Bailey (the latter 2 have women leads). More recently I watched The Unforgotten with NIcola Walker as a detective who works on cases of recently found remains where the murders were committed long ago.

As to comedies, the first two seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime are wonderful - Season 3 was okay but seemed a bit forced.

They interviewed Steve Martin, or replayed an old interview, about how he got into stand-up. A bunch of comedians are doing TV specials, this month. They must well, need to work, for one thing. But also realize we all need a break, and to laugh.

THANKS for this wonderful collection of your comments and suggestions. I'm hooked on Bosch at the moment but started Last Kingdom and Silent Witness, and Trapped. Will take a look at every single one of your suggested shows. Be Well...

These TV comedy series are worth watching if you can find them.............

Lilyhammer(Dark comedy) - American gangster starting a new life in Norway after testifying against a Mafia boss. (Netflix)

After Life(Dark comedy) - Tony (Ricky Gervais) coping with life after the death of his wife ,do not watch if easily offended by crude profanity. (Netlix)

Mum - Life for Cathy and her family after her husbands death. (BBC)

Two Doors Down - Scottish comedy series about neighbours set in a Glasgow suburb (BBC)

Must add "Tales from the Loop". It's sci-fi, just beautifully imagined and photographed character studies. In one a pretty young lady is upset that the exciting perfect moments in life never last. She discovers an old device in the lake which stops time for everyone, except she and a boy she likes. Their moment of wonder and love lasts more than a month, as they exist outside time. But then, she discovers some truths she doesn't like, behaves in an ugly way, and the moment is over.

The show is a bit like the Twilight Zone, as I think on it.

Just finished watching a very poignant film called "Kilo Two Bravo" or "Kajaki: The True Story". So very well made. I never went through the s**t that those soldiers had to endure, but I can empathize with the feelings they have for each other.

It's on netflix

We're in the middle of watching McMillions, a 6-episode documentary about the McDonald's Monopoly game con. Both my husband and I like it - which is unusual. It's an HBO show.

Godwit, thanks for compiling the lists of recommended shows.

I watched the first episode of The Loop. I liked the first half of the show, but thought it dragged through the second half. I haven't been motivated to watch another. But maybe I'll give it another try. I didn't like the first Bosch episode, then came back to it a couple of months later and binge watched them all.

The Umbrella Academy (Netflix series)

October 1st 1989, after 43 women around the world give birth simultaneously on the same day,(none of them having shown any sign of being pregnant) 7 of the children are adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves ..........

Tales from the Loop has a slow, eerie pace, filled with gorgeous visuals. Not exciting, true. It's surreal happenings, like The Twilight Zone.

A friend mentioned Ozarks. About cartel?
And "Tiger King". That's the "it" show everyone talks about.
