Curious, what are you watching while the world spins around us?

What's your favorite thing about it? Does it help you get through?

Surprised you think that Mixama. Your posts are always interesting and informed--a smartie like everyone here.

I never imagined but I'm actually watching The Vampire Dairies. Because it's the backstory to Legacies. Which...I also never imagined watching. But they are well produced, for fans of vampires and other creatures going to high school and stuff.

"Call My Agent!" is a "Best TV Series" award winning TV series out of France, in its fourth and maybe final season.

"Four agents take us behind the scenes of the wild world of celebrity" Wiki says.

e.g. Episode 1 the agent struggles to tell an actress she's too old for a role. Episode 2 an actress quits just before filming starts, and the role is given to a rival. Episode 3 Mother and daughter are both accepted for roles in the same film, but each tries to get out of it.

Available nearly worldwide on Netflix. Apparently it's not available just now on Netflix in Germany, Spain or Portugal. In Canada it's also on ICI ARTV (a CN French channel), likewise in Switzerland on RTS Un.

Godwit, I wonder if the series has an agent trying to deal with a Weinstein type character or a Kevin Spacey type character. That would be interesting.

That reminds me of a very good movie I just watched, called "The Assistant". It's pretty slow, not much happens in terms of action, but the toxicity of that workplace is chilling. It doesn't say it's based on Weinstein, but it's based on Weinstein.

Watched a movie, "Glory" on Netflix, anyone else seen it? Thought it quite good.

I've just read a question by our Mynah5459song, who highly praises this movie:

"The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz" is probably the most important English-language movie in the history of Canadian cinema...."

Happy Valentine's Day, you all.

Support your local bakery? I found one I've never been to before that promises something DElicious. Curb side pick up.

C30, if the movie "Glory" you reference is about the American Civil War, yes, I saw it years ago on TV. I liked it too.

I don't know if I'd go quite that far about Duddy Kravitz, but it's certainly a significant Canadian movie.

For "quirkier" I'd add The Tall Guy, starring Emma Thompson and Jeff Goldblum. It was written by Richard Curtis (who later wrote Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and Love, Actually) and includes a fantastic parody of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

Plus the most energetically funny sex scene in any movie.

Good picks...I'd add Carousel, Casablanca, and on the quirky side: Grease ( ONJ & JT had the screen sizzling:-)

'Smilla's Sense of Snow.' I've not seen it but I've read the book which was published in the UK as Ms Smilla's Feeling for Snow. It's a detective story set in Denmark including Greenland.

I believe 'The Revenant' is also set in a snowy landscape (not that I've seen it).

I have seen 'Ice Station Zebra'. It's based on a thriller written by Alistair MacLean who also wrote 'The Guns of Navarone'.

I am watching an Evergy press conference explaining why they are doing rolling blackouts when it is -10F out right now.

But as for actual TV shows, to keep with the theme above, the second season of Snowpiercer is on TNT. I wait for the whole season to air, recording each episode, then binge the whole thing on DVR.

Hooray for the Snow Piercer positive mention, thanks! Some hate it, some love it, but it's got another season. I've heard that Zebra station show is good.

Another chilly TV show recommended here a while back is set in Iceland, called "Trapped". It's a murder mystery in a small community during a blizzard. Great detective character I like a lot.

Other Iceland or Sweden shows that I haven't seen and I don't know about their global availability, but their ratings are good: "Case" "The Minister", "The Cliff", "Skargardsdoktorn" and a highly rated "Venjulegt folk". One with excellent ratings is similar to "The Office" called "Astridur", set in Iceland. "Jardarforin min" (2020) gets an 8.1 of 10. It's about a man who attends his own funeral. Oh! There's an Icelandic "The Bachelor". Hey those Icelanders are good lookers. Cozy up and enjoy.
